Kent Conrad Is A Liar

BISMARCK – North Dakota and Minnesota congressional delegations do not want the Patriot Act to expire, they said Tuesday.

Democratic senators from North Dakota and Minnesota favor a three-month extension while the Senate and House negotiate differences in their versions.

Sen. Norm Coleman, R-Minn., said there is still time to reauthorize “one of the most effective weapons in the war on terror, and said it is disappointing the Senate and House can not yet agree.

“The one thing we should absolutely be able to agree on is that we will not allow the Patriot Act to lapse,” said Sen. Ken Conrad, D-N.D.

That sure is a funny thing to say given that the Senator voted against extending the Patriot Act on December 16th. Senator Conrad is playing games. In Washington he's toeing the Democrat party line and undermining our ability to prosecute the war on terror. Meanwhile, here at home, he's telling North Dakotans that he is supporting the President they voted for and his anti-terror initiatives.

It is a total load of bunk, but do you think our in-state media would call him on it? Apparently not, despite the fact that its all a matter of public record.

When he isn’t up for re-election Conrad is a party-line Democrat and a tax and spend Democrat. In short, he doesn’t represent the views of the average red-state North Dakotan. [...]
