Karma Comes to Visit David Letterman

Last Night David Letterman went live to confess that he has had sex with a large number of female staffers over the years.  He also told of an extortion plot that is being investigated by New York City police.  He has paid two million dollars to the extortionist who worked for the program 48 hours with a phony check.
The AP story is here.
If you think of the flap Letterman had in the Sarah Palin comments a few months back in which he did the faux apology many of us lambasted him.
He had it coming.
But, he wasn’t fired.  He is still on the air.  He’s still a slimy man in my opinion.
And he’s a horn dog.  Any kind of false moral authority is lost.  I do not wish him well.  As was said during the Palin flap, his good till date is well past.  Like a B movie plot: the bad guy seems to get away with an evil deed, then suddenly as he is escaping with the booty he’s killed in a car crash.
Karma came to visit.
David Letterman just met her.
It couldn’t have happened to a more deserving person.

Ya think Palin is walking around with a bigger smile than usual today?

    Karma came to visit.

    David Letterman just met her.

Yep, and she's STILL a bitch.

  • WOOFX

Ya think Sarah reads the papers?

Ya think Palin is walking around with a bigger smile than usual today?

    No. The check bounced.

  • Mark

Asshole pig! All the jokes he made about others, including Palin just came back to hit him in the ass.

I remember an old saying, "if you want to know what people are guilty of, listen to what they gossip about"!

OK – first, I never liked Letterman, his political biases have shown more and more through the years, and really, I just don't find him funny at all. In all seriousness, I still wonder how he stays on the air.

As for this statement above, I believe, and i am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong, but during this time he was screwing around with staffers, he was single, not married and while I would wonder about the company policy for these types of actions, I see nothing wrong with him being a 'horn dog' if he is single.

Quit being such a prude. If he was single at the time, he was doing what any man would be doing, dating and having sex.

Personally he was right about one thing, it would be embarrassing for the women to have this come out because I don't believe having sex with Letterman would be anything they would really like to brag about.

And Clinton was a married horn dog. Slick Willie didn't get in trouble for having sex with an intern, but lying about it to a Federal Grand Jury.
What Bill did with Monica wasn't illegal. (Well, maybe in some states!)

  • http://proof-proofpositive.blogspot.com/ proof_positive

What Bill did with Monica wasn't illegal.

Referring to the sexual acts themselves, not the sexual harassment laws which Bill may well have run afoul of.

  • carrick

I don't think there was any sexual harassment involved in Clinton's case. It is pretty clear she stalked him (we know much more about that relationship than most of us would want to). Letterman it's not so obvious.

I find Letterman to be an ass, but if he's single he's pretty much allowed to do what he wants (within reason) in terms of female companionship, as long as it isn't illegal.

As to moral authority, guys dropping TVs off of roofs never had much of that to start with.

Proof this has nothing to do with Letterman though. Dragging up the Ghost of Clinton Past has nothing to do with this at all, or at least with the horn dog statement. Clinton was married, and yes, had sex or sexual relations with an employee / staffer, but again, it is like comparing apples and oranges in this.

Again, if Letterman was single during this time this is a whole lot of nothing on the horn dog and moral authority statements. He was blackmailed, he confessed to having sexual relations with staffers, the question is really WHEN, but even then, Letterman is neither politician, or news person – he is an entertainer, comedian and even with that I hesitate in calling him that. Again – if he was single during that time, personal dislike of him aside, who cares?

  • http://proof-proofpositive.blogspot.com/ proof_positive

I don't think there was any sexual harassment involved in Clinton's case.

As the liberals define it, the fact that she was a subordinate to him was ipso facto harassment.

Dragging up the Ghost of Clinton Past has nothing to do with this at all,

Other than the distinction between married vs. single horn dogs.

  • FlyOnTheWall

I remember an old saying, "if you want to know what people are guilty of, listen to what they gossip about"!

Yep, makes the reasoning behind some of his rudeness more clear.

    the Ghost of Clinton Past

How can anyone say "horn dog" and not expect people to think about Bill Clinton?

  • Wayne

To paraphrase, it depends on what the definition of 'single' is. Letterman has been in a very long term relationship, many many years, with the mother of his child. Isn't that what having an 'affair' is all about.

  • Wayne

Should have been a question mark there. Affair is the word Letterman used last night.

Hollywood types stopped getting married to have sex in the mid 60s. They just 'do it' with who and what whenever they are ready and celebrate their non-morality with in your face faux smiles… "smiling faces" — lies.

  • Neiman

Do you understand the English language moron – he said the Hollywood types began this in the SIXTIES! It has polluted the entire culture and left no one untouched by their filth, but it started with the sexual revolution of the SIXTIES and that statement has nothing to do with Palin or your own perverse sexual lifestyle!

  • http://magyartruth.blogspot.com/ Chief RZ

I believe the record for hollywood-type marriages was E. Taylor with 8 or 9 and one was to the same man twice, Richard Burton. There are many who have casual sex with others the same age, yes. It is immoral. In this case, Mr. Letterman smeared (and lied) about another person's child. We have a Governor who is also involved with another woman as he is married. He admitted it. I do not condone that type behavior either.

Letterman is an entertainer, a hollywood-type. They relish in their immorality all the while attempting to hide it. I will give it to Dave; at least he admitted it, but what he said about Sara Palin's child is inexcusable.

  • http://magyartruth.blogspot.com/ Chief RZ

    Neiman,
Thanks for attempting to point out the English language and emphasis of major points to a poster here. Unfortunately, I think your efforts will not be successful. I, too tried for about nine months, but without success. Some people are stuck in their child.

  • http://magyartruth.blogspot.com/ Chief RZ

Some people manufacture "problems". They are called the straw man in a faulty debate. I have encountered only a few of these-type people in my life, fortunately and I avoid them because of their inability to discuss issues on an adult level.

    It is called projection.

rbb any reason why you are trying to inject race into this conversation now?

  • http://sayanythingblog.com/readers/author/realitybasedbob/ realitybasedbob

That would better be asked of Chief.

    He knows what I mean.

  • sayanything-2407

Nothing could be further from the truth.
He is an underground negro hater.

Neiman, pay attention to his writings.

  • http://magyartruth.blogspot.com/ Chief RZ

    sanity, thank you also.
One student I taught was caught breaking a rule in school. He, too, brought up race.
The principal (who for those here who may be racist, accusing others of such) just happened to have the same skin complexion as the accusing student. She said, "xxxxxx, why is it that you seem to bring up race every time you get in trouble". The student then saw that he did not have a 'friend' on his racist side and admitted the act.

That was about the last time a student tried to play the race card. That was about 1980.
It seems that some people here are stuck in the 70s.

  • http://sayanythingblog.com/readers/author/realitybasedbob/ realitybasedbob

Chief, thank you for once again sharing a story from the 70's or maybe 1980.

More from the underground negro hater:

Honesty, freedom, Alaskan style. My brother lived there for a few years and described their European style honesty. The USA used to be like this before welfare.

My ancestors defended Fort Griswold, the Averys. I wonder if The Truth depends on what year something happened, the last second, the last year, the last decade, the last century or some other time constraint?

No, it does not. The 1970s were difficult because of the almost complete breakdown of authority and anarchy by communists and people like the 'weathermen', a disgusting domestic terrorist group that murdered innocent civilians.

  • ellinas

    My ancestors defended….
Chief RZ on October 2, 2009 at 05:29 pm

Who gives a flying fuck who your ancestors defended.
It is your attitude towards "non Europeans."

  • sayanything-98

Because history is part of our country. Many people believe in family. If history was irrelevant, then many might not contribute. Why win a game? Why keep score? Why study for an examination? Why graduate from college? Why help free a people from a tyrant?

Many do care what others have done. My 'attitude' towards others who may 'not care' what others have done is inquisitive. What geographical area one is born is not as much the point than what one does with their life; who one chooses for friends, who one dismisses as 'friends' and what rules one follows.

This is on topic for the thread. What David Letterman does or does not do is now part of his history.

Oh, who one marries, who are the father and mother of that child and how that child is raised.
