Just Once, Let’s Let Them Fight Until Someone Loses

Vin Suprynowicz:

The defeatists cry that “Nothing can be accomplished by violence; war only breeds more terrorists who will fight forever.”
Really? Sixty years later, is America still under attack by the aggrieved suicide-belted grandchildren of the Germans and Japanese whose cities we flattened and burned to rubble in ’44 and ’45?
No. Because wars usually do resolve these issues — if one side is allowed to fight to a decisive victory. It’s just that the pink petticoat gang shriek hysterically and threaten to faint dead away when confronted with the reality of how real wars really end.
Someone raises a white flag, and promises to fight no more if only you’ll give the survivors some food and water and stop burning them out of their holes. Many of the conquered women marry the conqueror’s soldiers and move home with them, giving up their native dress and learning to drive Buicks.
In Lebanon, Hezbollah is nowhere near ready to surrender. To end a war which has now been dragging on for 58 years, somebody’s ass has got to, finally, be whupped.
Who is that more likely to be? Do you hear anyone calling on the Hezbollah guerrillas to show more “restraint” as they overrun large portions of Israel?
Not now, you say? When better? After Iran has started supplying Hezbollah with nukes?
Today, Hezbollah and Hamas have a problem. All their planning was based on the fact that the world and the United States have never allowed Israel to really win a war — they always call a cease-fire after a maximum of 20 days.
Can anyone see the terrorists looking around now, wondering when they get their next three years off for rest, refit and resupply? “Hey, it’s been the full three weeks. Guys? Anyone? Hello?”

Read the whole thing.

    Justin B,

Minor nit to pick: Germany declared war on the United States following our declaration against Japan. There had been numerous instances of hostile acts by both Germany and Japan (some of which were most certainly provoked by the United States) well before December 7th.

More to the point, the real fight is not in Lebanon and the real enemy is not Hizbolluh.

    Persia delenda est.

Better nit, though is that we had a de facto declaration of war on Germany for three years before and were providing supplies to the UK.

In essence, the UK was a proxy in the fight against Germany, just as Israel is a proxy in teh fight against Radical Islam. Funny thing is we think that if we don’t actually stand up and take up arms to back Israel, the rest of the Muslim world will not go to active war against us since it is not actually the United States that they are out to destroy. The undoing of the logic comes when the Israeli F-16 flies overhead and drops its American Munitions.

Radical Islam is at war against us, we are just too stupid to know it and kick their ass for them. Why the hell don’t we actually use that “Cowboy Diplomacy” the world hates us for and kick Syria and Iran’s asses back to the stone age? Because we think the “nuanced” UN Approach of John Kerry will be able to solve this. We simply need a “cease fire” so that tensions can simmer down and the Israelis can come out of their bomb shelters so the rockets are more effective.

DD, you just hit the nail on the head! You cannot leave the malignant tumors and expect the victim to live. And the left will scream and fight against this course of action. The Heebs have defeated every Arab League army that has come against them, no matter how great the numerical superiority against them. It is time for the IDF to finish this dance. And yes, Mr Graves, one of the tools with which humans can crush this deathcult is the well known Persian hubris. All their neighbors know well the Persian desire to rule as the supreme civilization, dating to well before the advent of Islam. It is time to push this to a conclusion. Wahabis can join the rest of humanity in the 21st century, or we, real humans, can wipe them from exsistance. Just as real humans displaced neanderthal and cro-magnon, the deathworshippers are at their end. The only question is how many children and women they will kill before they join their god in hell. Oh, this ain’t Wifey, 2H9 here. My laptop is getting an oil change and new tires.

t, it is not as if I do not agree that the proper application of force, in the form of several neutron bombs delivered through various means, would not be of benefit to the entire human race. It is just a matter of convincing the powers that be. And just for your frame of reference, I have been of the opinion this will be the course of action that frees humanity from these death worshippers since 1978. Just for reference.

    Minor Nit. But well picked.

Unfortunately, ALL OF RADICAL ISLAM declared war on both the US and Israel and has been actively at war with us for 27 years (maybe longer) since the Iranians attacked our Embassy.

Why would we not do as Germany did and declare war on Hezbollah for attacking our Allies in Israel? And by extension, declare war on Hezbollah’s allies in Iran and Syria for the attacks on Israel?

It is simple. We don’t view this as a war. We view this as a minor border skirmish that has lasted since… well, 1948. It is the Zionists fault for existing. And we refuse to see this as what it is:

Muslim Fundamentalist Terror Group attacks Democratic Western Country.

How is that different than Al Qaeda attacking us? How is it different from any of the other attacks in London, Spain, 9-11, the Embassy bombings in Africa, the USS Cole, and so on? Oh, that is right, because these are DIFFERENT ENEMIES. This is not Al Qaeda, and we need to focus on Osama bin Laden. We fail to see that this is a war of Radical Islam against humanity and when part of humanity is attacked, we all are attacked.

It is only the “Civilized World” that is able to justify not defending their culture when attacked by savages. Notice that when a Koran Flushing or a few pictures or cartoons come out, the entire Islamic world goes batshit crazy. When Israel gets attacked, the rest of the world stands by and says we need to understand the reasons.

Justin: Absolutely. We have to quit wishing that there is something we can do short of victory to make terrorism go away. Had we started to go against the terrorist early enough, this war could have been fought almost exclusively on the covert level, but the combination of the left weakening our intel and military capabilities, together with a general head in the sand attitude about the true nature of fundamentalist Islamic terrorism, and we are where we are today. We have many weapons as yet unused, and it may be necessary to use more of them to prevail. I know this: If we don’t prevail, they will. It is at that stage.

any chance you american lads could drop a nuke or two on these towel heads ? just wondering ?

It is amazing that poverty, despair, hunger, wars, nothing could unite Islam. We hear the talking heads saying Iraq can never work because Sunnis hate Shiites and everyone hates the Kurds. Funny, but Hamas and Hezbollah who are as different in their ultimate ambitions as Japan and Germany were, have become strange bedfellows.

So the better analogy is to be fighting a two front war and convince ourselves we can win the War on Terror without fighting all the fronts at once. As if to say that during the three year time outs, we would be fighting Japan, while Germany had a timeout and vice versa. Never at peace, but constantly weakened over time by multiple enemies on multiple fronts. The pick and cut and they conspire in the process.

Funny, but we declared war on Germany despite them not attacking us at Pearl Harbor because we saw their uneasy alliance with Japan and the rising threat of the combined weight of losing our allies over time due to their own confrontations with both menaces. We hear about the Diary of Anne Frank, but rarely about the millions of Chinese that Japan bulldozed into mass graves.

So do we fix Afghanistan and Iraq while allowing the Taliban and Baathists to regroup in Iran and Syria, only to attack again? Do we fix Afghanistan without stopping Saddam from funding more terror in Israel?

It is as ludicrous to separate out the fronts on the WOT as completely different Wars as it is to think we could deal with Japan in isolation without declaring war on Germany since Germany did not attack us. Why to they call it “Cowboy Diplomacy” to state you are either with us or against us? Did we not make the same statements in WWII when we declared war on Germany?
