Judge Puts Coleman Back In Minnesota Senate Race

Al Franken, call your office.

ST. PAUL, Minn. – The judges in Minnesota’s Senate election trial threw Republican Norm Coleman a lifeline on Tuesday, opening the door to adding nearly 5,000 rejected absentee ballots to a race that Democrat Al Franken leads by just 225 votes.
It wasn’t a total victory for Coleman, who had wanted the judges to look at about 11,000 such ballots. He also has to prove the absentees were unfairly rejected, and it’s likely that Franken would gain votes from the pile too.
But his attorneys had said the absentees were the centerpiece of his court challenge, and they cheered the ruling.
“This is a victory for thousands of Minnesotans whose rejected absentee ballots will now be properly reviewed in this election,” Coleman attorney Ben Ginsberg said in a prepared statement.
While the judges limited Coleman’s field of potential new votes, they allowed many more ballots than Franken had wanted. His attorneys had argued Coleman should be limited to about 650 — the specific figure given in his initial Jan. 6 lawsuit.
The judges, however, ruled that the Jan. 6 filing laid out additional categories of ballots that should be examined.

At this point, given all the lawyer and political machinations, they almost might as well just flip a coin. But it is what it is I guess, and while I’m not exactly a Norm Coleman fan, it’d be nice to see Al Franken have to take up talking to the void for a living again.

Now, that is “good” change I can believe in. There just might be some common sense out there yet.

    2H9:

    You support computer/electronic voting…

Once again, this is simply not true as I clearly stated here. So what the fuck is your problem?

You steadfastly refuse to back up your statements with evidence. Now you’re distorting my position when the truth is literally staring you in the face.

Keep repeating the lies, dude, but no matter how fanatically you cling to them they still remain lies.

    I pity you.

  • http://sayanythingblog.com/readers/author/realitybasedbob/ realitybasedbob

    Jack, don’t feed the troll.

  • 2Hotel9

So jackoff is telling us that Democrats are not pushing for electronic/computer voting. Clearly you are one of those people that are too stupid to use a paper ballot.

Computer/electronic voting is entirely insecure. It is incumbent upon you, jackoff, to prove it is not, since you and your Party, the Democrat Party are advocating that all elections use computer/electronic voting.

  • 2Hotel9

Problem is the paper trail is non-existent. And politicians are fighting every step of the way to keep it that way. USG can not even secure its own computers, much less the thousands upon thousands in every district used for voting. Add hackers of every flavor imaginable to that, and the well documented inability of anyone in the government to do anything, anything at all, right and we are begging for massive elections fraud.

Add to that the push by Democrats for insecure equipment from their friends in the computer industry, and their never ending push to drag America down to the level 3rd World shitholes that fuck up EVERY SINGLE ELECTION they hold, and clearly computer/electronic voting is a deadend for America.

And no. I do not trust my bank’s computer system, either. Every transaction goes on paper, and the teller or manager signs it right above my signature.

  • 2Hotel9

You support computer/electronic voting, you vote Democrat, and you support destroying America. Fuck you.

By the time they’re done arguing about it, the term will be over.

    2H9:

…the Democrat Party said that ALL ballots would be counted…

Uh, that isn’t quite true. The Dems don’t recognize troops overseas or counties historically voting Republican.

    Illegal immigrants–yes

    Convicted felons–yes

    Dead people–yes

    The animals at the zoo–yes

    …and twice is applauded.

When you conservatives understand the perspective of the Leftivist mindset, you’ll understand that they have no use for rules, the result is all-powerful and in politics, for them, anything goes.

I realize that history is one of the subjects being phased out by our modern “progressive” educating class, but some of us may remember our American Revolution? How pissed off the Brits were, because “There are rules to warfare, and these guerilla tactics are definitely cheating…” The Brits refused to play the colonists lowball brand of war and paid the price. Warfare consequently changed forever. Take a hard lesson from that, because the Left has no intention of cleaning up their game. Period.

  • Jack

    So jackoff…

This is what passes for “clever” with conservatives.

Actually, a coin flip is the only logical way to pick a winner now. With a margin this small, it’s impossible to count 2 million votes accurately enough to know who got more. It’s a difference of one vote out of ten thousand, and no human can count and record 10,000 of anything without making mistakes.

I say MN has a runoff election between Franken and Coleman without the independent to bleed off votes.

  • American Dog

Kind of sad. I really was hoping that Minnesota would get Al Franken(maybe they still will). Since they didn’t learn their lesson in electing that fool Jesse Ventura, I figured maybe having the fool of fools Al Franken, would finally cure them of their stupidity. Make that the stupid liberal Minnesotans only. I wouldn’t want to insult my common sense good neighbor Minnesotans.

Voting through computers is entirely insecure, is totally compromised, and is the wetdream of Democrat asswipes.

Plain as plain, if you are too stupid to use a paper ballot you should never be allowed to vote. Or operate a motorized vehicle, reproduce, cook over open flame or electric burner, or wander around in public without physical restraints.

  • Jack

Same level of intelligence and same level of hate.

Yup. We’re both smart and calm, while the fanatics on this blog offer angry lies and mindless anger. I pity you all.

If you want to see stupid and hateful, check out this guy or this guy.

  • 2Hotel9

But, but, but,,,the Democrat Party said that ALL ballots would be counted. How could there be any rejected? Al and Ritchierich made quite the big deal about counting EVERY SINGLE BALLOT. They wouldn’t lie!

  • 2Hotel9

All the more reason for Americans to say fuck the rules and tell government to get fucked.

  • docdave

At this point the Minnesota Secretary of State (from ACORN) and his team have hosed up the ballots so badly that the true winner will never be known for sure.

All the more reason to just have computerized voting. Computers don’t lie, hide votes or falsely create them. Granted they can be hacked but that is a lot harder and easier to spot.

  • welder4

I wonder where Franken will get his extra ballots now? the 5,000 in question have been locked up and can not be added to, he will at least have to abide by the count of those. Of course I think he can sue to counter those votes as well but he will not get a favorable judgment this time ,it would rub every one the wrong way.

  • Jack

    2H9:

Evidence? Conservatives don’t need no stinkin’ evidence!

Fox gives you a talking point and you’ll repeat it over and over like the good little german you are.

  • Jack

DD, computers are the election thieves wetdream. No hard copy record, easily defrauded, and when people protest you just blather a bunch of techno bullshit and ignore them.

BTW, I agree with you there—and so do most liberals. Electronic voting is how Ken Blackwell stole Ohio for Bush in 2004.

  • docdave

Voting through computers is entirely insecure,

Have to disagree with you, 2H, since my 40+ years with computers and computer software tells me another story. Much of that work time was spent on software for banking systems. Banks used computers to collect and transfer financial transactions completely electronically which they wouldn’t do if it was not safe. Many measures (encryption, etc.) have been implemented to protect transaction data and the same measures could be used to protect voting transactions. Other proof of computer software integrity is all the business transacted over the internet with confidential financial information (credit card numbers, etc.)

Another benefit of computer voting is that a complete audit trail would be recorded making it easy to detect any tampering. That would be much easier than finding out which ones of the thousands ACORN volunteers has created fake votes.

  • Jack

    2H9:

I asked for some verifiable evidence and all you offered were angry insults.

How often have you hounded people for reliable evidence? Answer: often.

How often have you offered reliable evidence? Answer: never.

Conservatives simply repeat whatever their masters tell them. They think that if they repeat a lie often enough it’ll become true.

Let me offer you one more chance:

You claim that the Democratic Party advocates electronic voting. Can you prove it or are you just talking through your ass?

  • Jack

DINO is JACK…JACK is DINO…same attention whore.

Nope. I do not have that honor.

Not that I care what you think…

  • Jack

    You support computer/electronic voting…

No I don’t, as I clearly stated here. Try to pay attention.

…that places the burden of proof upon you…

No, YOU made a statement—”the Democrat Party is fighting so hard for all electronic voting”—so YOU need to prove your statement. That’s why the burden of proof is on YOU. All you offer nothing to back it up but your own hatred.

“Debate” or “evidence” are completely foreign to conservatives.

Of course, you cannot prove it because it’s a lie. When your masters lie you eat it up with a spoon.

    jackoff…

Wow! How original and sharp-witted you are!

  • http://insanereindeer.blogspot.com/ Kenny

    American Dog,
I almost had to take you to task. Remember, there were a couple of us who didn’t vote for Frankenstein. But hey, you corrected yourself. If the vulgar Franken is our alternative…then better the seat is empty. No I’m sure George and the puppet Ritchie aren’t very happy. OH BTW, I didn’t vote for the “bod” either.

The “couple” of you were in the majority.

  • Jack

That is why the Democrat Party is fighting so hard for all electronic voting.

    Care to prove that?

In reality, the exact opposite is true.

There’s really no sense in doing a runoff. While individual citizens may have strong opinions, as a state, Minnesota just can’t decide who her senator should be.

How many votes did the independent guys get? Any indication that their supporters would lean one way or the other?

  • 2Hotel9

We have been calling you jackoff since you first toddled in and spew your Democrat Party shit.

And you do support computer/electronic voting, you vote for Democrats who are forcing this on Americans who have already said they do not want it. Again, jackoff, you are too stupid to use a paper ballot you should not be allowed to vote. Period. And you are obviously too stupid to use a paper ballot.

  • http://SayAnythingBlog.com The_Whistler_ofnd

I’d support a runoff in this case. That’s not part of Minnesota’s rules of course, but why not use that in the future?

At this point the Minnesota Secretary of State (from ACORN) and his team have hosed up the ballots so badly that the true winner will never be known for sure.

  • http://SayAnythingBlog.com The_Whistler_ofnd

I can see using a computer ballot, provided that the machine also prints out a clearly readable paper copy that’s treated just the same as a ballot is today.

We have the benefits of the electronic voting but we still have a paper trail.

    Doc,

I dunno about computerized voting. Whoever controls the software will control the vote, and there won’t even be the audit trail of hanging or pregnant chads to check it against:

    Venezuela’s involvement in U.S. elections
    By Michael Hampton
    Posted: March 31, 2006 1:53 am

Some of the worst news possible for the security of U.S. elections came a year ago, and somehow I missed it. In March 2005, Smartmatic, a company based in Venezuela, purchased Sequoia Voting Systems, a company which makes electronic voting equipment.

What’s the big deal? Sequoia’s systems are just as insecure as Diebold’s, with irregularities being reported this week in Pittsburgh and Chicago. And the parent company, Smartmatic, whose machines were used in Venezuela’s 2004 recall election, still refuses to answer questions over the results of that election.

Let’s look at Venezuela’s election for a minute. Richard Brand writes about the national security threat posed by the Smartmatic/Sequoia merger:

When the vote finally came, exit polls by New York’s Penn, Schoen & Berland Associates showed Chávez had been defeated 59 to 41 percent; however, when official tallies were announced, the numbers flipped to 58-42 in favor of Chávez. Venezuela’s electoral council briefly posted machine-by-machine tallies on the Internet but removed them as mathematicians from MIT, Harvard and other universities began questioning suspicious patterns in the results. — Miami Herald

Read the whole thing for more on Smartmatic and its ties to Venezuela and the Chávez government.

Closer to home, Sequoia‘s voting machines are coming under fire for irregularities found during testing in Pittsburgh. A voting machine examiner there was able to turn a handful of votes into thousands and malicious parties could reproduce the problem even with the fix that Sequoia applied to the machines. The machines also had audit trail problems during testing.

As far as Minnesota’s voting for Jesse, it would seem that the movie actor Carl Weathers should be next in line. Seems the cast of the film Predator has already given us two governors (Jesse and Ahnold)
