John Murtha: Surge Is Working Because Our Troops Finally Stopped Murdering Innocents

Oh, and the terrorists are “worn out” too.

Murtha: I think they have 17 or so guidelines and they’ve solved 4 or 5 of them. . . .

Murtha: I think the short term it (the Bush Surge) has reduced incidents. I’m not sure if it’s because the Iraqis are just worn out but certainly the way they are doing it today it makes a big difference. It used to be we broke down doors. We went in and we killed people inadvertently. Now they’re much more careful about it.

Murtha says he thinks that “they” (apparently Murtha doesn’t consider himself a member of the country that’s at war in Iraq) have achieved “4 or 5” of the “17 or so guidelines” that need to be achieved in Iraq.

The reality?  Our nation set out 18 benchmarks for success in Iraq, and of those 15 have now been achieved.

Discussion question: How scary is it that this guy, who clearly either has no idea at all what’s going on Iraq or knows but chooses to dishonestly ignore it, is a member of Congress?

Remember, Rep. Murtha was the guy Democrats chose to put on point when it came to Iraq policy circa 2005.  Remember all those news stories about the “hawkish” Democrat who was now opposing the war?  The liberal left put their faith in Murtha to lead them to a withdrawal from Iraq.

That Murtha has been so horribly wrong about Iraq just shows how wrong the left in general has been about the war.

The senility of many of our ancient politicians makes me wonder why we keep voting them back into office.

I guess one could say that someone who is dead is ‘worn out’.  Yea, our military have really ‘worn out’ those terrorists.

You don’t have to be a moron to be a liberal Democrat but it sure helps.

As long as John Murtha and Wesley Clark are the leading military experts for the Democrats, it provides the Left an echo chamber for their radical views and provides the rest of the country ample reason not to trust these guys with our national security!

For any voter trying to choose between the two candidates for commander in chief, there is no better test than this: When American strategy in a critical theater was up for grabs, John McCain proposed a highly unpopular and risky path, which he accurately predicted could lead to success. Barack Obama proposed a popular and politically safe route that would have led to an unnecessary and debilitating American defeat at the hands of al Qaeda.

SEC. RUMSFELD: Not at all. If you think—let me take that, both pieces—the area in the south and the west and the north that coalition forces control is substantial. It happens not to be the area where weapons of mass destruction were dispersed. We know where they are. They’re in the area around Tikrit and Baghdad and east, west, south and north somewhat.

Ken:

makes me wonder why we keep voting them back into office.

Well, we don’t!  Their constituents do.  Works like this…

Your congressman is a senile, ancient politician who should be voted out.  But my congressman is a sage elder-statesman who sends home lots of goodies from Washington.

Just follow the money.

"Follow the money” that is John Murtha to a T.

Boob will have to explain to us what Donald Rumsfeld’s quote has to do with this.

As a Pennsylvanian, the only thing I can say about this mutt, who apparently is the only person in the US who is not aware that we have now met 14 of the 18 goals Congress established for the Iraq initiative, is that Jimmie Carter is from Georgia.  Sort of Obamaeque is it not?

I see you threw a quick post with your suckpuppet for cover. Smooth.
