John Edwards Still Mad At Hillary Taking $20,000 From Murdoch’s News Corp

Which is fine, I guess, in a shallow and petty sort of way. Except that the $20,000 Hillary got is about $780,000 less than what Edwards got from one of Murdoch’s book companies.

August 3, 2007 — WASHINGTON – John Edwards, who yesterday demanded Democratic candidates return any campaign donations from Rupert Murdoch and News Corp., himself earned at least $800,000 for a book published by one of the media mogul’s companies.
The Edwards campaign said the multimillionaire trial lawyer would not return the hefty payout from Murdoch for the book titled “Home: The Blueprints of Our Lives.”
The campaign didn’t respond to a question from The Post about whether it was hypocritical for Edwards to take money from News Corp. while calling for other candidates not to.

Well of course it’s hypocritical. And the whole boycott of Fox News is silly anyway.
More Americans watch Fox News than any other news channel. Does Fox News lean to the right? Sure. Just as CNN leans to the left. Big deal.
If the Democrats want to ignore the largest cable news audience in the world, so be it. Their loss.

He declined to show proof, however, that Edwards had donated the $500,000 advance or $300,000 expense checks to charity.

Maybe he bought some carbon credits from Al Gore?

(Edwards’ spokesman) says he gave that amount to charity, which would also provide tax benefits for Edwards. “We’re more than happy to give even more of Murdoch’s money to Habitat for Humanity and other good causes,” spokesman Eric Schultz told The Post yesterday.

    28,000 sq. ft. home!!! :ahhh:

… I am guessing your home has to be under 2500 sq feet to constitute an official FBI “visit”?

Perhaps, Ed Schultz should explain how that isn’t playing fair and Edwards should be forced to watch fox?

WOOF: It’s a play on words. Ever hear of it? …charity begins at home?
I have no trouble with anyone making as much money as they can! Although, if anyone were to play the “class envy” card, it would be Mr. “Two Americans” who can’t seem to figure out which America he is in!

That book is a big campaign contribution machine. It is sold out all over NY. Can’t say I blame him though — smart business is smart business. Nevertheless, he shouldn’t be such a hypocrite.

It seems the trouble with joking about things like the John Edwards Mega-Mansion is that, as usual, libs have no sense of humor!

If John Edwards had a foot coming out his ass for every foot that he has stuck in his mouth, he would look like a centipede.
