John Edwards’ Mistress Is Considering A Paternity Test To Prove Her Child Is His
Of course, the National Enquirer is the only media source covering the story. Which, for me, is kind of the story given that I think Edwards’ political career is over.
What interests me is the different way in which Edwards has been treated. It took weeks for the story about his affair to break into the media. And when it did, it got a short news cycle and then was spiked. Now his wife is on a tour promoting a tell-all book about what it was like to have your husband cheat on you while you’re battling cancer, and simultaneously her husband’s mistress is talking about finding out if her baby is John Edwards’, and again it’s not getting any news.
Meanwhile, Larry King is asking Bristol Palin’s ex-boyfriend where they had sex.
Fair? Balanced? Objective? Not even a little bit. Palin was a VP candidate, sure, but Edwards was both a VP candidate and a Presidential candidate…twice. Yet his transgressions are downplayed and ignored.
Sarah Palin, however, makes headlines if her wardrobe isn’t to the media’s liking.
