I saw this story and thought of one of our contributors to the Reader blogs, whom I’m sure would heap the same amount of scorn on little Johnny Edwards as was ever heaped on Newt Gingrich for similar human frailties!

These wealthy Politicians think the world is their Playground. Common decency is only a concept applied when after a vote. They feel free to tax the living daylights out of the common person, waist our money on boondoggles and non workable public strategy, while our roads go bad and our country goes undefended. This doesn’t surprise me.  Just your typical, shyster lawyer, and, a big fool at that. Edwards, you are a thing of beauty.  You definitely are a poster child when it comes to idiots.

Well, regarding the Enquirer’s truthfulness, they at least have managed to be close enough to the truth that they haven’t been sued out of existence, no?  While it’s also true that many celebrities don’t sue for libel because it gives the false accusation more press, it’s also true that you would expect a certain portion of suits to go forward and bankrupt them.

I’d never use them for a source on anything important, but the scary thing is, they’re probably reasonably close to the truth on 85% of what they write.

There are not many guys out there who could pull this off--or would want to, for that matter.  He deserves everything he gets, and his wife deserves better.

The Jerry Springer Crowd strikes again

So DP, Is it ok for Edwards to go about proclaiming his fidelity while banging Mr. or Mrs. Busey there?  He seems to want to enjoy the perks of the status of ‘happily married and for cryin’ out loud she has cancer’ as he did during the primaries when critisism of either Edwards elicited cries of ‘shame on you’ all the while keeping a piece on the side just in case ‘the love of his life’ takes a turn for the worse (or whatever reason he beds her).  But we can’t call him on his lack of character?  We can’t complain or crow when we find out this two-faced jackass is a lying, sanctimonious, hypocritical dirt bag?  Is that your contention?

Sure, you can do anything you like. I think Edwards is a hypocrite no matter who he is fucking. I dont need this to clearify things, and it says more about the “crowwers” than it does about Edwards.
If you like this sort of thing, if you think someones sex life is your business, then go right ahead. I think its silly regardless of who’s sex life it is. There are plenty of legit reasons to dislike Edwards without going down the Jerry Springer Road. Its as low class as the act itself.

So your hang up is that the behavior that exposed his character deficit involves “sex”.  You do realize that it’s the character deficit that invokes the crowing and not what exposed it, right?  He could have been caught betting on the outcome of “pet” chicken death matches after years of touting himself as an animal lover and crusading against such things and been a somewhat equally suitable target for derision as well.  Do you think his wife knows about his side lay?  Is she ok with that?  What does it say about him if she isn’t?  What does it say about her if she is?  This type of shit matters to some people because when you marry, you make a promise to your spouse and everyone else that you are exclusively having sexual relations with your partner.  Break the promise, suffer the wrath.  Why is that “Jerry Springer” stuff?
