John Bolton on the New Barbary Pirates

“I think that reaction is pathetic” – Former UN ambassador John Bolton on the Eric Holder/Barack Obama position on international piracy.
It seems that the Obama administration is falling back to the Clinton Era of “Let’s treat acts of war as legal infractions”. Earlier, it seems that the Navy, working under Obama’s instructions, missed an opportunity to end the hostage situation when Captain Richard Phillips jumped off the lifeboat, leaving his captors as what should have been a clear target for the Navy.
Expect the same diplomatic dithering that denied armor to the mission in Somalia under Clinton to be exhibited here under Obama.

    Are we to believe that a bunch of pirates in make-shift gun boats with outboard motors are going to rule the African Indian Ocean shores? Is this the 18th century? Then we have the dictators like Kim Sung Il running the diplomatic world while the thousands at the U.N. talk between luncheon engagements.
    Have we created a world with the “inmates” in charge?

    Last time I checked, becoming a SEAL takes at least 6 months of hard work. Using memory, the Basic Underwater Demolition School (BUDS) is located in or near Coronado, CA It’s not an easy transition from Sailor to SEAL, and it’s mighty uncomfortable. That water is fucking cold and they spend hours treading water to the point that they shiver like a hound dog pissin’ razor blades.

    I was invited after the completion of my first hitch, but since I had been doing pretty much the same thing in my first incarnation (Amphib Recon), I knew pretty much what to expect and wanted to do other things by then.

    Obama would not have the first clue what to do in a Special Warfare situation. If he deserves any credit, it’s for just getting out of the SEALs way and letting them do their job.

    The SPECOPS crowd lives to separate the black souls of two-legged vermin from their bodies and in so doing, make the world a better place.

    Also, it should be known, that there is usually a long logistical trail of those assisting a SEAL team to get close enough to jam a fighting knife into the base of some dirtbags’ skull. They should not be forgotten. While the SEALs did a great job, they had a lot of assistance.

    It wasn’t too difficult to prognosticate what would happen once the Obamination got into power.

    Tyrants, like the hyena they are, smell fear and pounce on weakness, recoil and run from punishing force.

    Heck, even Biden, that Brainchild, called this one.

We’re about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator president of the United States of America. Remember I said it standing here if you don’t remember anything else I said. Watch, we’re gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy.”

    Brilliant? 57 States Brilliant? Teleprompter-addicted brilliant?

    Mettle? He would be tough against law-abiding Americans, by ramming through laws and budgets that weaken America and turn government guns inward against our own citizens, but he has no mettle against the very terrorists he bows to.

    The Navy should have blown that ship out of the water and video taped it. Then we could show the world that we mean business not appeasement.

    well, looks like obama took care of this situation.

    Obama gave his stamp of approval to the plan pretty much everyone in the country has been wanting for days now. Not exactly a bold move, but he should get credit for granting his permission for the appropriate response.
