“I think that reaction is pathetic” - Former UN ambassador John Bolton on the Eric Holder/Barack Obama position on international piracy.
It seems that the Obama administration is falling back to the Clinton Era of “Let’s treat acts of war as legal infractions”. Earlier, it seems that the Navy, working under Obama’s instructions, missed an opportunity to end the hostage situation when Captain Richard Phillips jumped off the lifeboat, leaving his captors as what should have been a clear target for the Navy.
Expect the same diplomatic dithering that denied armor to the mission in Somalia under Clinton to be exhibited here under Obama.
