Joe Biden Mistakes Bad Weather For Terrorists

Invoking echoes of Hillary’s Balkan adventures, during a recent speech Joe Biden alluded to having been in a helicopter that was forced into evasive maneuvers by what he suggests (though doesn’t actually say) was the Taliban and/or al Qaeda terrorists.

“Ladies and gentlemen, where are we now? Where are we now?” Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., said to the National Guard Association today, talking about the war in Afghanistan.

“If you want to know where Al Qaeda lives, you want to know where Bin Laden is, come back to Afghanistan with me,” Biden said. “Come back to the area where my helicopter was forced down, with a three-star general and three senators at 10,500 feet in the middle of those mountains. I can tell you where they are.”

Biden said that Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., “says he’ll follow them to the gates of hell. You don’t have to go to hell. Just go to Pakistan. Just go to that area. That superhighway of terror that exists between Afghanistan and Pakistan.”

Sounds like Biden is saying that he and the other Senators/military brass on that helicopter had a close encounter with terrorists, no?  Well, the truth is that it was more of a close encounter with some sort of cold front:

“The weather closed in on us,” Kerry told the AP at the time in a phone interview from Turkey. “It went pretty blind, pretty fast and we were around some pretty dangerous ridges. So the pilot exercised his judgment that we were better off putting down there, and we all agreed…We sat up there and traded stories.”

Kerry joked, “We were going to send Biden out to fight the Taliban with snowballs, but we didn’t have to do it…Other than getting a little cold, it was fine.”

A year ago Biden was also caught exaggerating dangers he faced while visiting Iraq.

I know Democrats are desperate to look tough in the war on terror, but this sort of thing is just silly.  I don’t really care if these politicians were caught in fire-fights, or had close calls while visiting war zones.  I don’t expect a US Senator, or even the President of the United States, to personally take the field of battle and dodge bullets.  So why are they making this stuff up?

Other than to puff up their already inflated egos, that is.

And who has control of your nose?  I think you only breath out of one nostril, the left one.

One of the most important talents for success in politics is the ability to make utter nonsense sound not only plausible but inspiring. Barack Obama has that talent. We will be lucky if we escape the catastrophes into which other countries have been led by leaders with that same charismatic talent.

It’s better than breathing out of your anus, as Doc Dave does.

Instead of finding things to attack each other over, why don’t we find areas where we can agree, and find compromise long enough to take a step back and enjoy the recognition of our similarities?

Then, we can take steps forward in a constructive way, together, to tackle the issues where we really do disagree.

Here’s what Biden actually said:

“If you want to know where Al Qaeda lives, you want to know where Bin Laden is, come back to Afghanistan with me,” Biden said. “Come back to the area where my helicopter was forced down, with a three-star general and three senators at 10,500 feet in the middle of those mountains. I can tell you where they are.”

Biden is saying that if you want to find al Qaeda, come to where his helicopter was forced down.

What is that meant to imply, other than that his helicopter was forced down by terrorists?

Seriously, guys.  This reading for meaning stuff isn’t rocket science.  Sometimes you just have to suck it up and recognize that Democrats do, in fact, sometimes say stupid things that are worth of criticism.

The purpose of government shouldn’t be to do good, but simply to refrain from doing evil.

Holy fucking shit!!!  Your right.  I mean, what else could he have been trying to say?  He is so stupid.  He should know that if they actually were forced down by terrorists, we would have surely heard about it and that it would have been a huge deal.  HE IS SO STUPID!!!!  Wow.  How does this guy function?  I mean, after H. Clinton’s gaff about her “combat experience” no one should dare try that stunt again.  This guy must have been under a rock.  Or stuck in some bad weather in the mountains of Afghanistan.

Good job Silent Bob.  Keep up the great work.  You are so smart to put that together.

It sounds like Biden needs to inform the military of O samas whereabouts so they can catch him, if he knows where he is at why in the world doesn’t he tell Bush and the military>??
