Joe Biden: I Wish My Critics Knew What It Was Like To Be Raped

Written By:

Biden’s been using this talking point for a while now. The first time I noticed it was when he used it in Flint, MI suggesting that if Obama’s jobs bill wasn’t passed there would be more rapes and murders because there wouldn’t be enough cops on the streets.

Of course, the might have been more cops on the streets if the City of Flint hadn’t blown millions on “green” electric and hybrid buses, but whatever.

Anyway, in Philadelphia Biden used the same talking point. If we don’t pass the jobs bill there will be more rapes. And Biden just wishes his critics knew what it was like to be raped so that they could understand the importance of this economic-growth-through-government-spending policy.

Really, there’s nothing new to this talking points. Whenever big government types want to promote more government spending, or oppose spending cuts, it’s always the cops and the teachers who are on the chopping block. Because who can be against cops and teachers?

But the question should be, as the Flint example linked above illustrates, what is government spending its money on if not cops and teachers? That question is rarely part of the debate, and it should be. Because the real problem isn’t that our government isn’t taking enough money out of our pockets. It’s that the government spends so much on so many stupid, useless, wasteful, duplicative and/or fraudulent things.
