Jim DeMint On Social Security: “You Can Honestly Call It A Ponzi Scheme”

Senator Jim DeMint appeared on the Scott Hennen Show today to react to the GOP debate last night. Scott asked him about the controversy that has cropped up over Perry’s comments about Social Security, DeMint said he “appreciated” the Governor’s comments.

“You can honestly call it a Ponzi scheme,” says the Senator. “This criticism of Perry for speaking out doesn’t impress met at all.”

The Senator stopped short of endorsing anyone in this field of candidates. He said that he thought Romney was the best candidate in the last election cycle (DeMint endorsed him then), but said that he hadn’t made up his mind yet about this field.
