How can you take something she said out of context.  She has said that more than once.  She didn’t make a slip of the tongue.  She said what she meant.

Anyone who is Black in this country is sure to understand what Michelle Obama meant about being proud of her country for the first time in her adult life. With all that Blacks have suffered in this country, there was nothing to be proud of. How many Whites would be proud of a country that discriminated against them at all levels of society? I believe that Michelle Obama is proud of this country because for once she is seeing that the dream of equality is finally being realized. A Black man and a woman running for president! Now that is something that I am sure makes die hard conservatives cringe.

Hey conservatives, on this issue Watashiwa is right, in that all minorities, not just blacks, are still buying their past and even current victimization by whitey and still relate it to overt, malicious institutional racism, a lie liberals have been selling them for decades. “We Democrats feel your pain, you are oppressed, you cannot make it in life unless liberal whitey gives you special preferences in life and throws welfare money of all sorts at your door.” No amount of progress will ever change that simple fact.

A dear friend, a middle aged and successful black woman I know, says that racism is no better now than when MLK was fighting for civil rights and no argument I could make would budge her one iota from that sincere, heartfelt position. She beliefs it and even though she is a Christian, a true, loving Christian, she has to vote Democrat because they are the only ones that understand how she has been abused by racism and are willing to help her get past whitey. Just think now of a Black Messiah, a man of their own, not another white person, but a black person leading them out of their racist hell, and just think because he is partly white with a Muslim father, he will appeal to most minorities the way he appeals to blacks.

I said some time ago that saw I Mrs. Obama’s statements as being quite innocent and the attacks about her words were much ado about nothing. This will go no where folks, get past it!

Michelle Obama wrote an article while in college, about her experiences as a black woman.  Her experience wasn’t force upon her by the liberals.  Her experience is what it is.

So, I am going to be moving myself and my children to Schofield barracks to join my husband here in a couple weeks. I decided to start looking at some stuff from Hawaii and I found myself here in the rants and raves of Craigslist Hawaii. Everything that I have been seeing and reading about has been absolutely beautiful and I was very excited about this move...until now. I am finding from this that there is a lot of racism and bitching and it scares me. I found out that I am a “haole.” I mean what the hell is that. Yes I am white, but I am not discriminating against anyone. Is that what I have to look forward to? I am from Virginia Beach and my husband and I are really just starting out our life and...I just don’t know. So why don’t you guys let me know what you think.

See that?  A white person bitching about racism before they even experienced it.  PATHETIC.

Just because your limited and narrowed view of the world tells you all things are equal for blacks, doesn’t make it true Nieman.  In all due respect, you do not know what you are talking about, period.

You will never know what it is like to be a black person living in America.  Stop acting like you do.

Spend two weeks in the Honolulu Craigslist and view the comments in rants and raves.  There you will find that racism is alive and well in our country.

“Haole" is just a term that some racist locals and wannabes use to describe white people. Is it racist? Yes. Does everyone say it? No. Just dickheads with no perception of the world. Hawaii IS a beautiful place and don’t let a few racist biatches ruin that for you. Not all locals use the term “haole” as racist. Some use it as a reference to a race, but you can usually tell which people are using it to try and offend white people. Enjoy Hawaii and all its beauty and respect the land the same way you respect your living space. Go to the beach, get a tan, go fishing (good luck because this land is kinda over fished), go surf go to one pahty, drink couple Heinekens and just cruise.

Jim Crow, segregation, poll taxes and Bull Connor all existed during my lifetime, and I am not even that old. This is not 150 years ago.

Republicans helped pass LBJ’s civil rights legislation that was opposed by Democrats.

This is all withing living memory, and there are some people still serving in Congress that participated in all this.

The idea that Democrats are completely innocent in the racial politics today that divide this country is simply laughable, and completely contradicted by history.

Debating which party was doing what, when is really not my interest.  We can go on for days like this.  Yes, at one time the “democratic” party had racists.  Lincoln was a Republican.  Now what?

My question was about Neimans satement that Liberals are the ones creating the false idea that racism exists today, when it really doesnt.
