Jamestown Fire

Looks like there was a nasty fire in Jamestown last night.
Tom Simpson over at Webfeed Central has some pics and an accounting. Video of the fire available here.
As near as I can tell, nobody was hurt.
This is a terrible time of year for fires in North Dakota. The extremely cold weather (you can see the camera shake as Tom shivers while he shoots the video) we’ve been having makes fighting them especially tough. Thankfully last night it seemed to warm up a bit (though I can’t speak to the weather in Jamestown). Its almost above freezing this morning.

    Hey, my little brother lived in one of the apartments upstairs. Him and his friend were still up, Thank the Gracious Lord Above, and the woke up the neighbors and got out of there. He lost pretty much everything, but Thanks God for his life.

    I live in Jamestown and this is horrible… That was such a beautiful building and to think of the people whose apartments are gone, the businesses that are gone… it is heartbreaking.

    As of 7:30am, it was still pretty bad there. I work about 2 blocks away from there.

    It was in the low twenties this morning at 7:30.
    Still about there now.

    There were no casualties or injuries, although the one building collapsed entirely.

    I can’t even imagine how hard it must be to fight a fire when its below freezing outside.
