It’s Raining Democrats: Senator Chris Dodd Retiring As Well

In all the excitement about Senator Dorgan’s announced plans for retirement last night I missed the fact that Connecticut Senator (and, along with Senator Kent Conrad, Countrywide VIP loan beneficiary) Chris Dodd is retiring as well.

Both Dodd and Dorgan were high-ranking within the party and in the Senate. Though Dodd’s was more predictable than Dorgan’s, which is still a shock though liberal spin will no doubt have it that this was expected, both retirements represent news so ugly that Democrats would be well-advised to forgo any real spin efforts and just move on.

All these Democrats are “retiring” so they can take lifetime appointments in the new healthcare bureaucracy that will be handed out by the Obama Admin. Bet your a$$ on it.

Already covered that in 3 other threads, osmoron. You really are a slow, stupid c*nt, aren’t you.

Looks like we are going to get rid of a lot of democraps and RINO’s. Here’s to 30 more years of conservative rule, which hopefully will push dino off the edge he lives on.

  • brenarlo

This might not be such a good thing. Dodd would lose… their popular democrat attorney general might not.

    Yada, yada

There’s a lot of noise emerging here about retiring Democrats with no mention of the 16 House Republicans who are jumping ship along with six Republican senators.

Even the GOP national chairman Michael Steele sees no hope for the GOP making serious gains in the House in particular. “Not this year,” he told Hannity.

Republicans will continue their slide towards a has-been hotchpotch grounded on deception and lies and no longer able to count on gullibility.

“You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can’t fool all of the people all of the time” – thanks Abe.

Elections have shown that Americans will no longer be taken for fools by a bunch of blabbering clowns who oppose everything and offer nothing to fix the damage they’ve done to our economy and our international image.

I wonder if maybe Tim Geithner is on his way out?

  • sayanything-4603

why isn’t dino and the rest of the democrap lovers gloting on this news ? seems that this would be hard to spin even with their twisted minds.

    Hair stylists everywhere rejoice.

Gang? I’m tellin’ y’all, none of these Democrats are going to loose any power. They are all going to receive lifetime appointments in the Federal government from the Obama Admin.

  • sayanything-203

Considering Napolitano’s dimensions, not to mention her ineptitude, a whole paddy-wagon full of Keystone Kops would be more appropriate.

  • sayanything-342

This is Dodds attempt to reduce corruption n congress by quitting.

Windbag doesn’t want to face all those hearings on his banking scams. He’s a real piece of work.

    Randy-G,

Unfortunately, this is Team Obama we’re talking about.

I am no fan of Tim Geithner, but I would welcome his departure only if I knew his successor would be an improvement. With Obama (nominally) at the helm, there is no such guarantee.

“WE the People, the Citizen Legislators” will WIN the Fight to return our Nation to the Constitutional Republic for which it stands, ONE Nation, Indivisible-UNDER GOD with Freedom and Liberty for ALL!!

  • sayanything-4642

as long as corruption does not take on a new face, i really dont care who wins. yes, id like a conservative, but id happily change dodd the crook for an honest liberal any day of the week.

these are baby steps. each one of the old career political stains is forced to quit IN EITHER PARTY its a good thing.

  • sayanything-2483

I heard that in an attempt to improve Homeland Security, Obama is replacing Napolitano with one of the Keystone Cops.

  • sayanything-2483

The rats can see the hand writing on the wall and they’re all beginning to jump ship as it sinks.

  • sayanything-6955

A Geithner departure would be a good thing, A Dodd apointment to Treasury? God help us all!

  • spartacus

I’ve heard elsewhere that Dodd may be offered a position at the Treasury.

  • sayanything-6955

With Team Obummer it would be a crapshoot on a replacement.

  • sayanything-3444

Let’s hope the next press announcement about Dodd is his indictment for complicity in the financial melt-down. Good riddance to him, Dorgan and Ritter in Colorado. Who else is going to join the exodus?

Translation: Holy cats why are our rats deserting the Love Boat?
