It’s Official: Al Franken Is The Junior Senator From Minnesota

He doesn’t deserve it given all the irregularities that went went on with the vote counting, but that’s the way it is.
It’s unfathomable to me that a clown like Franken got elected. But given the narrow margin of victory, and Fraken’s likely performance in the Senate, I’d expect that seat to go back Republican.
In six years.

Good point Nieman, but you’re forgetting something. When cons screw up they screw up BIG like when they gave us the Great Depression and this New Great Depression.

That usually means they’re out for a LONG time. That’s why, despite con efforts, we’re still living with much of the New Deal intact.

The small amount of rollback cons were able to implement such as financial deregulation will be completely REVERSED now that their policies have FAILED MISERABLY.

It will be another two generations before anyone believes the cons’ lies based on nothing but ignorance and GREED.

    Enjoy!

I hate to burst the Left’s bubble of joy, but in my 60+ years, I have seen our nation from the White House to Congress to SCOTUS to states legislatures, swing Left and Right and back again as it will this time. People soon see through the lies of the party they elected to power, they feel the pain of their decisions and decide to give the other side a chance. It is also worthy of note that America does not really like one party in charge of Congress and the White House at the same time and they don’t take long to divide government to minimize the harm thye can do to us.

This national pendulum demonstrates that America is more middle of the road than most partisans like to think.

But just think stems, now you have a new thing to whine about for years! A new instance where you can claim victimhood!

We all know how you LOVE to play the mistreated victims. It plays into all those S/M fantasies.

what do you call it when you have more votes counted than ballots cast?

Is that what happened? Can you provide a link? I would question how the person counted ballots cast. If you are saying that there are more votes casted then eligible voters, that is another story, but that is not what you are saying.

What do you call it when vote counts are dated a few days before the election in certain crucial precincts?

In some states, like Hawaii people could vote for Obama well in advance of the election. it’s called early elections.

What do you call it when every precinct having trouble counting votes, votes mostly democratic and is controlled by Democrats?

Concerning. But i just don’t go around crying voter fraud, that is what you disliked about the Democrats you claimed had BDS.

    Welcome to sore loser land.

Dino: There are always excesses by BOTH parties when they have too much power, the Democrats will overreach very quickly and begin to fail and the electorate will become disenchanted, absolute power does after all corrupt absolutely and the political tide will turn. With the GOP and Conservatism it is supposed to be about Capitalism, free markets and entreprenuership where everyone prospers. The truth is our poorest citizens live lives of much greater prosperity compared to the rest of the world’s poor, which is why so many poor people want to come to America, the American dream still survives. With the Democrats and Liberalism it is socialism, robbing people of individual responsibility and a drive to prosper and whenever we have a welfare state mentality, a redistribution of wealth, we see our poorest people fall even farther behind and no socialist state can produce an economy like ours where everyone benefits.

Is the conservative approach perfect? No, capitalism, free markets and etcetera is a very untidy system, messy and to the world it always looks greedy and grasping; but the proof is in the pudding, our great prosperity wherein we will even recover from our current economic woes, even despite the Democrats. The Republicans for the past eight years were neither one thing or another, they became what they hated, big government, big spending liberals, in trying to please everyone, they pleased no one. Socialism and Capitalism cannot exist together and succeed. The failures of far too many Republicans, notice I did not say conservatives, have certainly not done our cause any good lately.

In the end though Dino, I don’t know of any socialist system wherein there are not greater numbers of people in poverty, deeper poverty and wherein they were a great economic power. Yes, to you socialism may seem, fairer, more comnpassionate; but let me give you my comparison of the two systems.

Liberals see poor people and they take money from those with money, buy a fish and give it to each poor person. The poor people breed and we take more from the workers and give more fish to the poor and we feel good about ourselves for ending poverty, which we didn’t really do. Conservatives say, let us give the poor people fishing poles, bait and teach them how to fish. These people then have the pride in feeding themelves and their families, not taking welfare charity, so they teach others how to fish and soon they are selling fish to the people with money and they then have money too, fat bellies and a sense of self worth. That is capitalism and economic conservatism. One system (socialism) seems compassionate as it feeds people even though they stay poor. The other system, conservatism is truly more compasionate because they help people feed themselves, have pride in their achievements and prosper beyond their dreams.

Yet, too dang many Republicans abandoned true conservatice principles in the past eight years and if they don’t recover them soon, they may indeed be out of power for decades, to the harm of us all.

  • Slacker Deluxe

Let me be the first. Except for flight changes at MSP International, I won’t be setting foot in Minnesota as long as he is in office.

  • NoJelly

Actually, most of us had to know deep down inside, especially considering that Republicans neither have the stomach nor the rest of the guts to stand up to this kind (or any other kind) of Leftist deviancy, that this was going to be the eventuality.

I’d like to think that Al won’t quite make it six years. His inability to know wrong from right or legal from 6-10 in Leavenworth should get him whitewashed from American politics sooner than that. The guy is a slimeball, the bulk of his electorate voted for either a campaign lie or “the team”. They don’t care about character or ethics, only winning…

I predict many more of these stolen elections, at least until the People get their voice (and their stick) back…

I just hope Coleman has a jimcrack set of lawyers and the Court has an honest Bench. With a f’dup Judge, you can bring in a busload of nuns and nothing will work.

With Leftists, the ends justifies the means — any means at all.

For them, politics is war by other means.

  • jkpv

I think Franken will embarrass and screw the Dems along with the Repubs just as he did Air America.

  • http://sayanythingblog.com/ likwidshoe

This thread shows that the right cant accept legitimate defeat through the American democratic system…

Is that what you call fraud? “Legitimate defeat”.

What was that? MORE votes were found and they all went for Franken. Oh shit! Well, what are the odds?

    You joker.

If not “fraud,” thinking people should at least agree that there is a disturbing pattern that really ought to be investigated by the Secretary of State. Unfortunately, Mr. Ritchie seems to be quite uninterested in actually doing the job he was elected to do.

Continuing the very suspicious pattern, don’t ya think? The Sec. State was elected with the help of ACORN.

There goes that suspicious pattern again.

The gop is so hated that even this guy won?

    Hallelujah.

    Can I get an AMEN!!!

Whither thou goest, O once proud gop?

  • jkpv

WOW!! Another lying liberal fraudulently elected to office, what a surprise.

  • Dino

Our prosperity and success, like that of other first world nations, is based on a healthy amount of socialism ijected within the capitalist framework.

We saw our greatest gains in widespread, more evenly shared prosperity after the New Deal. When we started abandoning it 30-40 years ago, we started moving in the other direction.

That is evidenced by what is happening today. A handful of people benefited greatly from the bubble but many more will suffer the after effects.

Without a measure of socialism you would not be as well off as you are. 95 percent of us would not be.

And this thread shows us that the Democrats ignore fraud.

  • Halatbis

Lighten up folks, its a new Minnesota joke, “Hi, I’m Al Franken, your Senator from Minnnna-soda”.

  • John D

Everyone had to know as soon as the recount started that enough votes would be “found” to turn the election to Franken.

That’s what happened in Oregon and Washington. In Oregon George W Bush was the winner in 2000 until some “late” ballots came in from one of the counties. And we all know the story of the Washington State governor’s race.

I’ll bet the Minnesota SC accepts the ESP method of vote counting. But it’s not something that is going to be forgotten either.

We’ll all just have to accept Franken as Senator the same way that Democrats accepted GWB as President. We’ll show him the same level of respect.

  • Hannitized

Is that what you call fraud? “Legitimate defeat”.

Yes. Where is the evidence that it was fraud, aside from your imagination?

What was that? MORE votes were found and they all went for Franken. Oh shit! Well, what are the odds?

Well, using your logic, maybe the fraud occurred before the recount was demanded and all the votes didn’t get counted originally?

    You joker.

Im not joking, I just think that people should have facts before they cray fraud, otherwise, they just sorta look like sore losers.

    Here you go:

    http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123111967642552909.html

Funny, every suspicious ruling seems to favor one side. Every suspicious number seems to come from the Democrats.

Funny, we’d ordinarily call that “fraud” back when we learned our logic.

And no, the Hawaii thing doesn’t work. The trick is that even when people vote early (absentee or otherwise), the votes are actually counted ON ELECTION DAY.

Wrong date on the voting machine? It should mean “ballots are not valid.” End.of.story. But not when you’ve got a guy brought in by ACORN to “finagle” things, apparently.
