It Wasn’t A Collapse Of Capitalism But Rather A Collapse Of Government-Managed Capitailsm

An excellent video from the Acton Institute rebutting the wave of anti-capitalism sentiment we’re about to see as a result of Michael Moore’s new movie.

That title should read “… Collapse of Government Mis-Managed Capitalism.”

  • Wayne

The same is true of our health care system. A lot of the high cost of health care is due to government interference.

  • EnigmaCypher

This shows how much integrity Moore really has. Using a Capitalist system of film distribution to air his views n how much he despises Capitalism. Now this really is biting the hand that feeds.

This is just another example of the fact that our economic system is not “capitalism”. We have the free enterprise system, which depends upon freedom to work properly. All inroads on that freedom prevent the system from functioning as it should, and bad results occur, directly proportional to the loss of freedom in any and all markets.
In a sense, all economic systems are “capitalist” systems, since they all deal with the ownership, control, use and distribution of capital and its yields.
The differences are in who owns, controls and distributes the capital, along with its yields. In our system, almost all of that should be done by free people making free choices.

Ehh.. does anyone seriously listen to this bag of wind anymore?

I find it’s best to ignore the man and let him make a fool of himself. He’s quite good at it.

  • Spartacus

The poster in the picture is all wrong. Wrong flag and the guy is wayyy to thin to be Michael Moore.

  • Spartacus

    ^opps, wrong thread.

  • Spartacus

    or not

  • Pilgrim

Moore is a hideous, bloated caricature of a human being who licks the capitalism he so despises from his sausage sized fingers while slurping down the largesse it provides him.

    Slime.

  • Spartacus

pil, don’t say “sausage” while MM is liking his fingers, the red cross has a hard time finding and maintaining a supply of type Obese negative blood.

  • budsmoke

In his next film, he’ll berate people for being overweight.

  • Spartacus

In his next film, he’ll berate people for being overweight.

Spurlock beat him to it, look up “supersize me”.

Ehh.. does anyone seriously listen to this bag of wind anymore?

    Unfortunately, Yes.

  • Spartacus

^ well, Spurlock didn’t blame the individual, he took the MM approach of blaming the company for making him fat and lethargic, as we’re sure Michael would. What’s personal responsibility have to do with anything we can have the government regulate for us!

  • Spartacus

    Unfortunately, Yes.

Yeah Anna, some do. Fortunately they’re mostly Liberal indy film buffs interested in the works of never has been film producers.

  • Hannitized

pil, don’t say “sausage” while MM is liking his fingers, the red cross has a hard time finding and maintaining a supply of type Obese negative blood.

Are you talking about Limbaugh, or Moore??

  • Spartacus

Oh come on surfer boy, are you really so piss poorly educated that you really associate the initials MM with Rush Limbaugh? Who keeps you alive telling you repeatedly to inhale and exhale?

  • Spartacus

Bailed out on us eh, Han. Probably a good thing, you don’t want to be late for that 3rd shift security guard job at the Dole plantation! Aspire towards 2nd shift!

  • DINO

Sort of like sitting on your ass enjoying an early, very generous government pension ans complaining about government spending. A pension from a state whose pension fund is only at the 64% level.

At least Moore earned his money and isn’t retiring on other peoples’ tax money after a very short “career” giving out speeding tickets.

    Right, Pilgrim?

  • Mickey

dino will die face down in a sewer…and like it.

  • http://www.indymedia.org/en/index.shtml Angry Vertebrate

Until conservative policies failed so miserably all you conservatives were telling us how well they were working. Now your excuse is that it was the govt’s fault! (Since Bush was prez and Greenspan was head of the Fed, you def have a point.)

    Classic.

  • carrick

LOL, Dino still doesn’t know what capitalism is.

He seems to think it’s the absence of government.

    FAIL.

Neither AV or little stem know the most basic truth: govt exists to serve us, not the other way around. If govt isn’t doing for us, it’s not necessary. It takes our money, and then some crackhead like little stem gets all righteous when citizens take back some of what we paid for. It’s not our fault that the greedy govt consumes at least 50% of what it confiscates to pay itself bloated salaries and give itself gold plated perks. It’s our money, not theirs.

Definately. I’d love to see the size of the federal government shrunk by at least 50%. One can always dream I guess.
