Israel Readying Itself To Hit Iran

ISRAEL’S armed forces have been ordered by Ariel Sharon, the prime minister, to be ready by the end of March for possible strikes on secret uranium enrichment sites in Iran, military sources have revealed.
The order came after Israeli intelligence warned the government that Iran was operating enrichment facilities, believed to be small and concealed in civilian locations.
Iran’s stand-off with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) over nuclear inspections and aggressive rhetoric from Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the Iranian president, who said last week that Israel should be moved to Europe, are causing mounting concern.
The crisis is set to come to a head in early March, when Mohamed El-Baradei, the head of the IAEA, will present his next report on Iran. El-Baradei, who received the Nobel peace prize yesterday, warned that the world was “losing patience” with Iran.

Iran has threatened to wipe Israel off the map. El-Baradei has said that Iran will be nuclear capable in “couple of months.”
Frankly, I think Israel is showing a great deal of restraint by waiting until March.

Good for Israel! I’ll be looking forward to seeing Iran try to wipe them off of the map or re-locate them to Europe.

There’s no way that a legit Israeli intelligence report was leaked. My feeling is that this is intended to get the Iranians scurrying around so as to better mark the target. For a strike that will come long before March.

hope they make it messy. It would served as lesson to the rest of the region and nuclear wantabe.

March may be the earliest they could do it, there’s some technical hurtles that would have to get over to be able to pull an attack like that off, not the least of which is the range of their aircraft.
