Is Hillary Clinton Toast?

After yesterday’s primaries everyone seems to be writing Hillary Clinton off.

Even my esteemed co-blogger Pilgrim is saying “stick a fork in her.”

My prediction?  There is no way Hillary drops out.  She may not have a shot at the nomination this year, but she can still torpedo Obama’s campaign for the sake of a wide-open run in 2012, and I have little doubt that the Clintons are power-hungry enough to do just that.

I am not sure why she is dead. RBB favorite page the Huffpost also declared her dead as well…

Months of grueling running around the nation and the huge expenditure of money put into the pot, quiting before the last card is turned has to be almost impossible.
Strange things happen in politics,
but it’s gonna take a miracle to turn the train around.

Only 7 percent of the pledged delegates remain on the table. There are 260 remaining undeclared superdelegates, for a total of 477 delegates left to be awarded.

With North Carolina and Indiana complete, Barack Obama only needs 172 total delegates to capture the Democratic nomination.  This is only 36% of the total remaining delegates.

Conversely, Senator Clinton needs 326 delegates to reach the Democratic nomination, which represents a startling 68% of the remaining delegates.

The democraps should go back and look at what a Stalinist candidate did for them in 1976 and 1980.

Americans are a forgiving people, but smart enough to recognize a maggot on the gut-wagon of American politics.

“Get the Wright tapes queued up.”

Get the Ayer’s tape queued up.

Get Michelle Obammer’s tapes queued up.

More crap there than you can find in a Chicago sewer.

He has more hidden and unexplored crap than an Al Queda Easter Bunny.

You two aren’t disagreeing, those are completely different statements and I think, both true.

Hillary is waiting for the zombie to come out of the closet and eat Obabma’s brain.  (I leave that to the reader to decide if that is to be taken literally or is a metaphor for a political scandal.)

Eniels, yep.  Obama is Carter phase II.

I agree rob.  Hillary has put too much into this to just drop out.  I have serious doubts that Hillary’s campaign to the superdelegates will be successful but I hope that this drags out as long as possible.  Go Operation Chaos!!!

Now looks like a good time that she should announce her intentions to resort to the Lieberman maneuver and run as an independent, it’s been proven effective against nutroots based candidates in the past

At least when George Bush was reading My Pet Goat, he genuinely had no idea Manhattan was being terrorized. And it wasn’t by his own plane.

I highly doubt Hillary would run as an independent, but I agree Spartacus that that would be quite entertaining.  I can already picture Matthews and Olbermann freaking out…
