Is China Coming Clean About Iran’s Intent To Develop Nuclear Weapons?

According to this article in the Telegraph they are:

China has betrayed one its closest allies by providing the United Nations with intelligence on Iran’s efforts to acquire nuclear technology, diplomats have revealed.

Concern over Tehran’s secretive research programme has increased in recent weeks after officials at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the UN’s nuclear watchdog, discovered that Iran had obtained information on how to manufacture nuclear-armed weapons.

China has known for some time that Iran had every intention of using their “peaceful” nuclear fuel for weapons. So….why now? Why are they turning on their allies at this time?

One possibility is the spread of Islamic fundamentalism in the region. Beijing isn’t immune from it, as much as they would like to have us believe that they are. And if they’ve determined that jihadis on Chinese soils have been funded by the mullahs in Tehran it could very much have changed their attitude toward Iran.

The story is just developing, so we’ll have to see if there’s anything to it in the next few days. I hope so, because it will be a definite kick in the face to Iran if they lose such an important ally.

Maybe China has discovered that when you lay down with dogs you get up with fleas. They should have known that all along because I think they’re the ones who came up with the expression in the first place.

A salute to R.O.P. for this one.
