Is Barack Obama A Plagiarist?

There are certainly some disturbing similarities between a speech given by Barack Obama and a speech given by the current Democrat Governor of Massachusetts Deval Patrick:

The coincidences would seem to indicate that Obama copied several lines and linguistic speech patterns from Patrick’s “Just Words” speech for Obama’s own “Words Matter” speech. Indeed, words do matter. And they matter even more when they are one’s own words.

With Obama already suffering from accusations relating to the lack of substance in his campaign, this doesn’t bode well.

It’s worth noting that in 1987 Joe Biden’s bid for the Presidency was ended after it was discovered that he’d plagiarized a speech former British Labour Party leader Neil Kinnock.
