Internet Addiction More Dangerous Than Other Addictions

Too Stupid:

TEL AVIV, Israel, Aug. 18 (UPI)—Internet addiction should be grouped with extreme addictive disorders such as gambling, sex addiction and kleptomania, an Israeli psychiatrist said.

Dr. Pinhas Dannon of Tel Aviv University’s Sackler Faculty of Medicine said 10 percent of Internet surfers are afflicted with “Internet addiction disorder,” which can lead to anxiety and severe depression.

Internet addiction is classified by mental health professionals as an Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, a mild to severe mental health condition that results in an urge to engage in ritualistic thoughts and behavior.

“Internet addiction is not manifesting itself as an ‘urge.’ It’s more than that. It’s a deep ‘craving.’ And if we don’t make the change in the way we classify Internet addiction, we won’t be able to treat it in the proper way,” Dannon said Friday in a release.

He said the two groups at greatest risk from Internet addiction disorder are teenagers and people in their mid-50s suffering from the loneliness of an empty nest.

Maybe I’m a bit biased here, but I don’t see a problem with sitting in your home doing what you want to do without hurting anyone.  It sounds to me like the pshrinks are trying to create more need for themselves.

This sort of denial calls for an intervention.
What do you say fellow SABer’s?  Shall we make this the first e-intervention?  Whistler clearly needs our help.

Hey, dumb f**k shrinks, I have a deep ‘craving’ for life.  You have a cure for that?  Besides death?

Being liberal is never having to admit you’re wrong

Oooooh, Whistler! You make me so mad! If I could uncurl my fingers from around this mouse, I’d slap you!

gambling, sex addiction and kleptomania?

You can bet your sweet ass you don’t have to take this from anybody!

Those who think the party or the country, will be “taught a lesson” by handing the levers of power over to the liberals will learn a lesson, but it will be at the expense of our country and her liberties. And there are no guarantees that the party or the country will come out stronger, more conservative or better positioned to win elections against the incumbent liberals.

No… noooo… I avoid the birthday’s cause it tends to cost me money. But, I do send a birthday card letting them know I am still actively searching for their real parents.
