Injun Time?

Wow…

GREEN BAY, Wis.—Democratic U.S. House candidate Steve Kagen apologized Tuesday for commenting that he was late for a meeting on an Indian reservation because ‘’we’re on Injun time.’’

‘’I did not mean any harm by my words and I humbly apologize if I offended anyone. That was not my intent,’’ he said in a statement hours after the National Republican Congressional Committee released a tape recording of the comment.

Here’s the audio.

This reminds of Joe Biden bragging about how he’s from a slave state and talking about all the nice Indian (from India) people he meets in donut shops and convenience stores.

You can this little bit of racial insensitivity from Kagen will get about as much attention as Bidens’ did.  Which is next to nothing.  Which is significant given that “macaca" from the lips of a Republican politician resulted in a two-week media storm.

Double standard?  You betcha.
