This is spot-on.  It seems like just yesterday I was entering grad school only to be confronted with the same blather I’d been reading in translation from Soviet and Red Chi-com propaganda organs, only this time it was from school staff and faculty.  For the first year, we were all in shock and keeping our heads down, just trying to survive.  I soon learned the futility of going along to get along, since there was no placating the totalitarian urges of the tenured Leftover Left.

The following year we came out swinging and engaged in a subtle kubuki dance of resistance, since full frontal resistance meant censure and expulsion.  We formed a Federalist Society chapter on campus, got the Individual Rights Foundation on campus, posted articles by John Leo (wotta guy) on the school read board, and ultimately had the lead counsel for the local ACLU come and speak on our behalf on the issue of PC speech codes versus the First Amendment (Robyn Blumner) .  Robyn reminded me in a lot of ways of Ann Coulter, but she styled herself as a feminist.

The school faculty didn’t quite know how to deal with her.  We, on the other hand, by staying strictly confined to the plain language of the First Amendment, should have been fairly safe—right?

RIGHT?

Negative.  If you wanted to really piss off a Leftist school prof, bring up the Constitution.  It was like pouring cold water on a cat.  They’d hiss and spit, call us skinheads, KKK and Nazis (who were we going to complain to?)

It was here that I learned what took me a long time to really understand—these Leftists hate America. They hate the Constitution because it gets in the way of their agenda.  They hate straight, white males and the women who love them.  Indeed, they reserve a special kind of hatred for Conservative women, since they are traitors to the Feminist Revolution (all sex is rape)

Your (?) blog entry of the posters of Che and other Marxist icons put up by the Obama campaign workers reminded me of being back in school in the professors’ lounge.  These folks didn’t bother hiding their allegiance to Communists and Marxist terrorists, nor their disdain for the Constitution.

This stuff exists and indeed is widespread.  There is more help now than there was then, with the red-diaper baby David Horowitz becoming a spirited convert.

One interesting phenomenon was the backlash the heavy-handed indoctrination has been spawning—the Southpark Conservative.

When I was in undergrad I shut my mouth when confronted with the constant leftist agitprop, but when I was in grad school I wasn’t putting up with that crap.
