Illogical Liberalism

From the reader blogs:

No logical, coherent philosophy could produce the thought pattern that a wage gap (real or imagined) is an unacceptable patriachial business world discriminating against women...but that a man who cuts out his daughter’s sexual organs is just a cultural difference we need to understand. No rational person could ever argue that a woman has the unmitigated right to an abortion, yet has no right to smoke, or eat foods made with certain ingredients. And no intelligent person could rationally expect minority children to succeed in a “deeply racist white boy world” by “acting black” or refusing to speak English.

Well, if you need a philosophical basis for liberal thought, you need look no further than Hegel and his illogical Science of Logic (600 pages of circular reasoning that “proves” the existence of God by presupposing his existence on page 1). Incidentally, the Western World would not, today, even know who Hegel was were it not for Karl Marx basing his philosophy, in part, on Hegel’s brand of German Idealism.

That’s right, the liberals needed a nonesense philosophy as a foundation for socialist ideology.

Today we have Hegelian philosophy (and its lack of logic as espoused by Hegel’s Science of Logic) extending into every facet of “intellectual” thought. In the arts, you will find Brechtian theater (and more recently Pinteresque theater) as an outgrowth of Hegelian obscurantism and nonesense. These are all, of course, liberal intellectuals.

Illogical Liberalism

That’s redundant.

Wow, I hit the front page. That made my day.

Thanks Rob.

Exposing the intellectual hypocrisy of liberalism and today’s Democrats is gonna keep you mighty busy, Kenny.  These are, after all, the descendants of the “if it feels good, do it” crowd from the 70’s, and rational thought and honest intellectual consistency are as foreign to them as Sanskrit.

Have fun!
