If You Want To Stop Cap And Trade, The Time To Call Your Representatives Is Now

You cannot delay.  Speaker Nancy Pelosi has scheduled a vote on the Waxman-Markey climate change bill, which is the much-talked about and much-maligned “cap and trade” legislation, for tomorrow.  So there is not time for delay.  We cannot take a chance on hoping this bill gets killed in the Senate.  It must be killed now.

The Tax Foundation has estimated that cap and trade would cost the average American household roughly 2% of its annual income.  An MIT study has put the cost in dollar amounts at $3,100 - $4,000 per year.  Given the deficits Americans are already saddled with paying off, and given the tax hikes Obama and the Democrats already have planned, we simply cannot afford this.

For North Dakotans, this is how you can get in touch with Rep. Earl Pomeroy though Earl has already pledged to vote against cap and trade.  Still, though, making sure he knows how North Dakotans feel about this is important.  An in-office visit, if you live near one of his offices, is best.  A phone call is second best.  There is no time for a letter.

If you only have time for an email, any of you no matter where you live can contact your federal representatives electronically by clicking here.
