I Guess This Spring Break Thing Really Is Popular

So this spring my parents, my nephew, my uncle and I were all going to meet down in Tampa, Florida to take in some spring training baseball (since we’re all baseball nuts).  This morning I spent three and a half hours on the phone trying to get flights for my nephew and I booked to go down (the rest of them will be meeting us there in their RV’s).  I couldn’t get a flight from Minneapolis or Salt Lake City (the only two routes you can take out of North Dakota) any time in the month of March to any city in Florida from Tallahassee in the panhandle to Miami down on the tip of the state.

Finally I had to compromise and add two days to our travel plans so that we could fly in and out of Atlanta (they’ll pick us up in the RV’s and shuttle us back and forth to Tampa since it’s on their way anyway).

I don’t think I’ve ever had so much trouble making flight reservations before, and I’ve made a lot of them.

Comments

Its because the flight coverage in the state sucks.
I think this is the problem with North West and how they cuts flights and service. I also believe this is why Minot and Grand Forks have tried to add another air serice.

...if you REALLY want to see trouble, when boarding the plane with your half gallon water bottle, tell them about the secret compartment behind the label that holds your stash of mary-J-wanna.

I’m leaving on a cruise the first weekend of Feb from Miami and had a difficult time finding a hotel room last fall.

I didn’t know that they’re playing the foozeball that weekend when I booked the trip.

What’s that like Mark?

What’s going to happen to US industry when the global warming extremists like John McCain double the price of electricity?  I would think all these factories will close and set up in countries where they aren’t scared of technology.

Maybe if we raise the price of tuition working families will be able to get some vacation time.

Funny, I’m going to Florida this spring too. Except I didn’t have any trouble finding a flight and I ordered the tickets only a week ago. Guess that’s an advantage to living in the Northeast.

Should have driven to Sioux Falls, taken the Allegiant Air flight to Orlando then rented a car and driven the hour over to Tampa. SF is about as far as Mpls I think.

It will be better if all the flight companies would use the facilities of Internet which is in a continuing evolution. In this way everyone could avoid troubles and wasted time. Our travel plans will be not damaged.

Yes, if internet would be used by the airline companies, my guess is that their income will increase significantly. On the other hand, they will have a strong feedback from their clients and will know how to meet their needs so that everyone would be pleased with those services.
