Hypocrite Democrats Force Through Health Care Bill In The Middle Of The Night
Remember in 2003 when Nancy Pelosi said this:
For some reason, and I think it should be obvious what it is, the Republicans insist on having votes that are of great import to the American people, but where they are clearly on the wrong side of the issue, have these votes taken in the middle of the night.
Last night, in the middle of the night, Pelosi and her Democrats crammed through a health care bill that will, if passed now by the Senate and signed by President Obama, fundamentally change the way every one of his gets health care. They did it without allowing the bill to be posted online for a reasonable time for public scrutiny, despite promises. They did it without even allowing enough time for those actually voting on the bill to read it and seek out comment and guidance from those they purport to represent.
The one silver lining is that this was a narrow vote, 220-215, which doesn’t portend good things for the bill as it goes to the much more deliberative Senate. And by forcing this vote Democrats may have put in serious jeopardy many of the most politically vulnerable members of their caucus.
But all that is moot if this bill eventually becomes law. Because even if the Democrats jam it through and subsequently lose control of both Congress and the White House (remember that Obama has said he’s willing to lose re-election to pass this bill) having Republicans in office will be cold comfort as, upon reaching office, they aren’t likely to just turn around and rid us of this bill.
If this passes, much like the abysmal Medicare and Social Security programs we’re all forced to participate in, it will never ever go away.
