How Many Of Obama’s Sponsored Bills Have Been Made Law

Um...none?

Rob:

You need to get off this right-wing fixation with accoplishments. After all, how many legislative innitiatives really give someone a warm feeling inside.

Obama’s campaign isn’t about policy or proposals. It’s about hope and change. No other politician out there can deliver hope and change. And if there’s one thing the country sorely lacks, it’s hope and change.

Ignore that man behind the banner that says Hope and Change.

John Kerry was well into his second term in the Senate before he passed his first piece of legislation.  I believe he’s had only three or four more since.

Come to think of it, AlGore hadn’t done much of anything in the Senate either.  What is it with Democrats, anyway?

There’s a meaningless platitude.  I think that under Obama, the change could very well make things worse.  As far as hope is concerned, the people that REALLY love this country have all the hope they need or want.  It’s those that hate our country that are without hope.

Doc Dave: “There’s a meaningless platitude” Wing Chun knows that, he was being sarcastic!

None of this matters, Obama’s several or many questionable relationships, his past troubling public utterances and policy positions, his mistakes in life and his failure to say what “change’ means. Too many people don’t get it still - this is all about image, mystique, movie star qualities and a messiah attraction that will never allow these things to dissuade his ardent, loving, adoring and idolatrous followers. If anyone, even McCain tries to get this to the issues, he will face vague answers, triangulated answers; that is, answers that cover every possible side of every issue in opaque ways that will satisfy every one of his followers. He will never get pinned down, his appeal is “I am compassionate, an agent of change for good, above ordinary men and to question his motives or plans will be equal to attacking him and will fail.

Have a lovely 2008!

How true, Neiman.  Unfortunately, many (perhaps most) Americans get their political education from CNN/MSM and anti-USA cinema.

Wow, I think many of us could go out and say I am running on change. Impressive that he hasn’t done anything yet but is worthy of being president.

If he gets elected, let’s hope his record does not change.

HOPE is when you see an attractive woman at a bar and walk over to buy her a drink.

CHANGE occurs 7 weeks later when you find out she’s unemployed, deep in credit card dept, and pregnant with your child.

Robbie and Friends ...

It might help your credibility a little bit if you do a bit more research than listening to Rush Limbaugh, Tim Russert and Chris Matthews (after all, they’re all the same guy, LOL!).  Anyway, I think we would ALL be a little hard-pressed if asked on the spot to name ANY candidate’s legislative accomplishments.  That’s just not the kind of data any of us is going to have at the forefront of his/her brain, unless they are anticipating a need to recite it.

At any rate, for the feeble of mind, who choose to think vicariously through Matthews:

Obama in his first 8 Months sponsored over 820 Bills. Introduced 233 Bills on Healthcare Reform, 125 Bills on Poverty and Public Assistance, 112 Bills on Crime Fighting, 97 Economic Bills, 60 Human Rights and Anti-Discrimination Bills, 21 Ethics Reform Bills, 6 Veterans Affairs Bills and many others. In his First Year in the U.S. Senate, he authored 152 Bills and co-sponsored another 427. These Include: 1) the Coburn-Obama Government Transparency Act of 2006 that became Law, 2) the Lugar-Obama Nuclear Non-proliferation and Conventional Weapons Threat Reduction Act that became Law, 3) the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act that passed the Senate, 4) the 2007 Government Ethics Bill that became Law, just to name a few. In all, since he entered the Senate, Senator Obama has written 890 Bills and co-sponsored another 1096.

by the way ... Presidents sign bills into law - not senators.  It’s a simple reality of politics that Democrat-sponsored bills have a hard time passing by a Republican administration and vice versa.  But, like Chris/Tim/Rush, it’s apparent that you are desperately trying to work the magic of The Spin.  That’s what crooked politicians do, when the facts are not on their side.

And THAT information is directly from The Library of Congress!  Check it out for yourself ...

(unless you’re waiting for Matthews to do your homework for ya).
