How Does Obama Get Away With Claiming He’s “Created Or Saved” 150,000 Jobs?

If any Republican made a claim like this they’d have been laughed off the stage by the media. But Obama? Well, he’s different.
Did you know he has a gift?
From the press conference last night:

This budget builds on the steps we’ve taken over the last 100 days to move this economy from recession to recovery and ultimately to prosperity.
We began by passing a Recovery Act that has already saved or created over 150,000 jobs and provided a tax cut to 95 percent of all working families.

So, which jobs were created? Which ones were saved? How, exactly, was that number calculated?
And is making vague references to some 150,000 jobs you’re claiming to have created or saved really appropriate when unemployment in March set a new record?
Someone should ask Gibbs these questions so maybe he can tell us what Obama really meant to say.

    Though I’m not sure what WIll’s excuse is for thinking the recession that started in Dec 07 due to the policies of the previous years of bush/republican policies is Obama’s fault.

    Just read his book, Audacity of Hope. Or Read Dreams from my Father. He makes it very clear that he would side with a Muslim over an American.

    What Ideology are you referring too? The ideology of this blog is driven by capitalism and freedom from government. This is what led 13 colonies to become the largest most powerful country in the world. No other country in history has done more for the world than America has. We give the most food and aid to struggling countries than anyone, and no one else has fought to defend freedom and individual rights more than the USA. I am really sorry that you feel so dejected from society (could be family issues, being teased in school, coming to terms with your homosexuality) but trying to discredit the great things this country has done isn’t going to make you more socially acceptable. Socialism and the other forms of governments that you support have never worked. I think you would be allot happier if you stopped spending so much time causing fights on a conservative blog. Maybe if you went out in a face to face social setting and conversed with people you wouldn’t be so butt hurt.

    Because by claiming he’s saved 150,000 jobs, that is impossible to disprove. Hell, he could claim he’s saved 2 million jobs if he liked, because it’s impossible to prove that jobs wouldn’t have been lost. It’s the Keynesian “things would’ve been worse if I hadn’t done anything” nonsense that Roosevelt was so fond of.

    And to follow it up, he can always ad “and may the lord strike me down with lightning if I’m lying”.

    During his 100 Day Press Conference Barack Obama bragged that his administration had created or saved 150,000 jobs. Unfortunately…
    The US economy lost 598,000 jobs in January.
    The US economy lost 706,000 jobs in February.
    The US economy lost 742,000 jobs in March.

    So, in other words Team Obama has lost 2,046,000 jobs and only created or saved 150,000 jobs.

    Hmmm, doesn’t seem like he’s making much progress. Shortly after he was elected didn’t he say he would make 3,500,000 jobs?
