How Come Obama Had Time To Appoint An Ambassador For Earth Hour, But Not People For The Treasury?
If you’re one who feels that environmentalism seems to be more and more an assault on progress, individualism and human innovation by a bunch of backwards-thinking Luddites (and I know I’m one who feels that way) then this video is for you.
While I was watching that, I got to thinking about the green movement’s publicity stunt from yesterday. Ed Norton was picked by the Obama administration to be America’s official ambassador for the event. But at the Treasury Department, an agency Obama has made central to his economic rescue efforts, there remains over a dozen unfilled positions.
Meaning that even if Obama’s economic rescue plan as defined by his Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner were workable (and it’s not, really), it’s unlikely to succeed with pretty much just Geithner himself manning the Treasury.
Which pretty much sums up Obama’s approach to being President, doesn’t it? Plenty of time for meaningless fluff, not a lot of time for leadership.
