How American Politics Work

According to Jerry Pournelle:

The purpose of modern government is to take money from the folks who save and pay their bills and live within their means, and use that to hire government workers; and to keep their power by using the money to buy votes from those who do not save and pay their bills and live within their means. And of course the money comes from those who work and save and pay their bills and live within their means—who else will have any money for the government to take?

Sounds about right to me.  And they get away with it by defining all those taxpayers who “save and pay their bills and live within their means” as “the rich” who deserve to be taxed so that the poor “victims” who don’t live their lives responsible can continue to live irresponsibly.

Then you’re a complete and utter moron.

No argument! Just a name calling troll! Typical.

For any voter trying to choose between the two candidates for commander in chief, there is no better test than this: When American strategy in a critical theater was up for grabs, John McCain proposed a highly unpopular and risky path, which he accurately predicted could lead to success. Barack Obama proposed a popular and politically safe route that would have led to an unnecessary and debilitating American defeat at the hands of al Qaeda.

Solid.

Ok boys and girls lets talk non lethal interactions for the DNC unfortunately I cant be there myself but since they have loaded up the police with non lethal weapons just thought I would offer a little tactical advice. Well looks like they will be using tear gas launchers a good no frills mask that will work will run around $40 Google gas mask industrial tactical. Wear thick or layered clothing tuck your pants legs into your socks this will give you a little more protection gloves are a good idea to (industrial). Your opponent will be wearing body armor and may have riot shields so a non lethal response will be difficult but can be achieved tear gas is flammable so use that to your advantage in close quarters but make sure you have a way out. Rubber hand grenades (slang name hornets nest) may have some effect as well as beanbag cannons. If you can access a the ventilation system for the building a couple of teargas or even just smoke grenades should express your disapproval in congress. Lets keep it non lethal leave it to them to escalate the situation and clear out loss of life should be on the polices hands not yours if things get to hot clear out. Have a good time enjoy the convention, have fun stay safe.

Dannyboy sounds like someone who’s on the government gravy train and sure as hell doesn’t want to earn his own way in the world.

Just think how much wealthier we’d all be if the losers would actually contribute something.

What’s going to happen to US industry when the global warming extremists like John McCain double the price of electricity?  I would think all these factories will close and set up in countries where they aren’t scared of technology.

I didn’t call him names. I properly identified him as a troll for his troll-like behavior.

Any questions?

The federal government has rewarded irrepsonsibility and punished responsibilty for some years now.  If you are successful, work hard, and attain the American Dream, be prepared to suffer for it, by having a larger percentage of your income confiscated.  If you are not inclined to do that, you will receive a premium in the name of “fairness” and “compassion.” And God forbid anyone criticize the latter group:  the unwed mothers, the families that have five generations of welfare recipients, etc.  They are the “victims” of that cruel system known as capitalism.  But the genie is out of the bottle; the “victims” know how to play the system.  Decades ago, Ayn Rand branded this group “looters” and “moochers.” And she got excoriated for it.

By the looters and moochers.  Who cares what they think?

Nobody is stopping the individual from being caring and compassionate.  It’s all these people going around telling the rest of us that we have to fund their caring and compassion (if you can call what some of these social programs have done to minorities and the poor “compassion") that bugs me.

When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.
