House Democrat Leadership: Conservatives Should “Uncomfortable” About What They Say On The Air

Because the Democrats are coming for them.

Rep. Henry Waxman has asked his investigative staff to begin compiling reports on Limbaugh, and fellow radio hosts Sean Hannity and Mark Levin based on transcripts from their shows, and to call in Federal Communications Commission chairman Kevin Martin to discuss the so-called “Fairness Doctrine.”

“Limbaugh isn’t the only one who needs to be made uncomfortable about what he says on the radio,” says a House leadership source. “We don’t have as big a megaphone as these guys, but this all political, and we’ll do what we can to gain the advantage. If we can take them off their game for a while, it will help our folks out there on the campaign trail.”

I’m a little skeptical of the quotes.  These aren’t attributed to anyone by name, and this is coming from a partisan source, but on the flip side this sort of thing isn’t exactly out of character for the Dems either given their push on the Fairness Doctrine.

Regardless, there’s no doubt in my mind that Demcorats would love to shut Limbaugh, etc. up and are more than willing to use the coercive power of government to do it.

But Randy Rhodes, Al Frankin, Jeanine Garafalo, and Mike Schultz got a free pass for two years to call for assassinations of Republican leaders…

What is the fairness doctrine anyway?  For every global warming story, there should be an equal and offsetting non-global warming story?  For every Rathergate, there should be a chance to smear Pelosi?

NPR should be forced to carry Rush’s show.

I ask again: Why wasn’t what Rush said(whatever you think it was) a “Free Speech issue”?

answer: Because the Dems/MSM want to silence any and all opposition to their takeover of the US.

The only legitimate role of government with regard to economics is to prevent fraud and provide a remedy- civil and criminal penalties- in case of fraud.

People have the mistaken notion that the free market has no rules.  But it most certainly does.  All our problems are due to government meddling.

The threat of a Congressional investigation is the epitome of intimidation.  Keep in mind that Waxman’s investigations, in addition to the staff that conducts them, are done with taxpayer money.  Yet another reason to severely limit their power to spend.

Justin, you are spot on.  Here come the communist censors.  This would be real censorship--government censorship, the unconstitutional taking away of our first amendment.  Vote for democracy and our Consititution!

Voting no longer is the solution.

With no disrespect intended, then what is the solution?

The Left (Democrats) cannot win on the battlefield of ideas, in that arena they are bankrupt; but if they can stifle free speech, overwhelm it with laws like the Fairness Doctrine, then with their message being the only one available, winning on the battlefield of ideas is easy, when there is no opponent.

No matter the age or state of health, for a military man it is always glorious to tilt at windmills, rescue a fair Dulcinea and be a gallant knight in armor in a glorious cause.

Yes. They(Democrats/leftards) can not win open elections/ballots. Therefore they engineer several forms of fraud. Them accuse everyone else of engineering voter fraud. It has been long overdue for Americans to activate 2A and destroy all of our enemies. Root&branch, teeth&toenails.
