Hope ‘N Change: Obama Won’t Be Prosecuting Anyone For Waterboarding

Another day, another disappointment for Obama’s left wing base as The One picks pragmatism (and national security) over revenge politics and opportunism.
And, frankly, good on him for it.

Attorney General Eric Holder says the government won’t prosecute CIA officials for using waterboarding and other harsh interrogation tactics on terror suspects…
Holder said in a statement Thursday it would be unfair to prosecute CIA employees for following the legal advice given at the time. And he says the government will defend any CIA employee in any court action brought in the U.S. or overseas.
“This is a time for reflection, not retribution,” President Barack Obama said in a statement.

Cue the left – who once idled away the hours fantasizing about Cheney, Rove and perhaps even Bush himself being frog marched into waiting FBI vans – engaging in some quick rationalization having something to do with “moving on,” etc.

Hmmm, maybe the Obama administration is thinking about the consequences four years down the road.

Wonder what Jamie Foxx would say about Michelle’s underbite in this pic? Perhaps he’d want her to do a porn film or some heroin before taking her seriously?

oh we are so grateful Dear Leader…patriots who did their duty and kept US safe will not be dragged before the Pelosi/Reid public show trials allowing lib scorn to be heaped upon them. HAIL OBAMA..HAIL OBAMA…we bow to your Olympic generosity and sing songs to your wisdom.

my take: bring on your trials shitforbrains Dems, double dog dare ya…Americans know who kept them safe these last 7 years and don’t care a fig for the “rights” of the terror scum who will attack US again at the first opportunity….which won’t be long with these blind, stupid, sissy libs in charge of our security.

Just another example of a con-man saying whatever it takes to get where he wanted to be. Reminds me of the old Gilda Ratner skits on SNL where she would go off on a rant on some subject or another until she was reminded that whatever it was wasn’t true or really happening, only to meekly say “Oh … never mind”.

Anyone notice that the high-value terrorists who were subjected to waterboarding are still alive? Compare that to the thousands tortured and killed by our enemies, many of them their own people. Tell the family of Daniel Pearl or the 9/11 families that we shouldn’t go after these scumbags with all the weapons in the arsenal.

I’d rather be waterboarded than than watch that.

    I’ll pour the water.

This is an amazing disappointment. I very much hope he realizes his mistake and acts to punish the torturers and the people who ordered it.

They are both shyster millionaires; why can’t they get that fixed?

You know The One is a total nut bag when doing the right thing makes the news.

Pinochet was arrested in London on an Interpol warrant issued by a Spanish Judge for atrocities against Spanish citizens.

One of the prongs considered when executing those warrants is whether or not the individual will face charges domestically. By not prosecuting these folks, Obama is scoring political points at home and increasing the chances that Spanish, or other, warrants might be executed on these individuals elsewhere.

The best result for those guys would have been a short trial here with a not guilty verdict. Of course, it would be a formality that Obama would likely get hell for from all the pro-hate, pro-torture folks.

If waterboarding is torture, then the upcoming Thundercats movie will be a crime against humanity.

Not that it still won’t if waterboarding isn’t torture, but I’d rather be waterboarded than than watch that.

You can’t do a wrong thing right.
