Hope And Change: Gays And Blacks Clash Over Gay Marriage

Some 70% of black Obama voters in California also supported a ban on gay marriage in California, and the gays aren’t happy about it.
All is not well in the land of Hopeandchange.

Geoffrey, a student at UCLA and regular Rod 2.0 reader, joined the massive protest outside the Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Westwood. Geoffrey was called the n-word at least twice.

It was like being at a klan rally except the klansmen were wearing Abercrombie polos and Birkenstocks. YOU NIGGER, one man shouted at men. If your people want to call me a FAGGOT, I will call you a nigger. Someone else said same thing to me on the next block near the temple…me and my friend were walking, he is also gay but Korean, and a young WeHo clone said after last night the niggers better not come to West Hollywood if they knew what was BEST for them.

Los Angeles resident and Rod 2.0 reader A. Ronald says he and his boyfriend, who are both black, were carrying NO ON PROP 8 signs and still subjected to racial abuse.

Three older men accosted my friend and shouted, “Black people did this, I hope you people are happy!” A young lesbian couple with mohawks and Obama buttons joined the shouting and said there were “very disappointed with black people” and “how could we” after the Obama victory. This was stupid for them to single us out because we were carrying those blue NO ON PROP 8 signs! I pointed that out and the one of the older men said it didn’t matter because “most black people hated gays” and he was “wrong” to think we had compassion. That was the most insulting thing I had ever heard. I guess he never thought we were gay.

Jasmyne Cannick has a similar and unfortunate report. “I have received several phone calls from Blacks, both gay and straight, who were caught up in Westwood around the time of that march. From being called ‘niggers’ to being accosted in their cars and told that it was because of ‘you people gays don’t have equal rights and you better watch your back,’ these gays have lost their damn minds.”

Can you smell the unity?
This is what happens when you treat the electorate not as individuals but as members of groups and classes.

    They were denied….
    End of story…

What we have is “militant,” violent homosexual activists and an increasingly militant, intolerant Left in America. Submit or die!

So democracy has prevailed. Politicians have been elected. Ballot initiatives have been voted on by the people and shall be passed into law. Perhaps next time they should really think before putting something so important into the hands of the people. They were so sure that it was going to get passed that no one stopped to think about what would happen if it was defeated.

What they don’t understand is that the people have spoken!

It just happens that they disagree, so now they think they have a justification for anarchy….

Like children, when not getting their way, they are having a tantrum.

I actually have a lot of sympathy for the gay community.

The poor nutards have really been taking one in the ass for the political cause over the past few years.

I have never attended a political rally where a handshake has been replaced by a regal-like bow.

Good Luck, boys, or whatever you call yourselves.

We have been letting the violent lefties get away with this type of violent intimidation under the name of “protest” and “demonstration” for over forty years. This is just part of a logical progression. Weakness invites attack. Those “demonstraters” should be arrested and tried for their violent crimes.

Sound like hate crimes to me…

And just FYI, all you grievance Liberals (African-Americans who support slavery reparations)…

Whites suffered in slavery, too! Ain’t that a hoot? Kinda takes the “arg” out of your argument, doesn’t it? Helps if you study history, instead of making it up as you go along…

Bigotry sucks, no matter who is the victim. Y’all Libs all need to get a clue.

    How insensitive! I’m appalled!
    Gosh…. gays cursing?
    Culturally insensitive homosexual protesters?
    THTOP ALREADY!

More protests tonight, and more planned for tomorrow. Also, a nationwide effort is planned for protests on the 15th.

    Sore losers and crybabys.

Here’s a tip to them all: America AINT BUYING what you’re SELLING!

As an African American male, I’ve seen my share of hate. However, I choose not to hate any person based on race, religion, sexual orientation or whatever types of differences that set us apart as a human race.

That being said, I do not support the concept of gay marriage as it is an oxymoron. Marriage is a covenant ordained by God as stated in the Bible. Therefore, to have a gay marriage one would assume that God condones homosexuality. (Hold on sir, you said you did not hate)!

God loves everyone sinner and saint alike. That dose not mean he signs off on our lifestyle issues (some of which are clearly against His will) but he has given us a choice to adhere to his plan of salvation. I do however believe we all have a will of our own to either accept or reject that plan of salvation. If God Himself has chosen not to do so, there is no way I would be able to make someone embrace salvation.

If gays want to have civicly ordained unions, I’m fine with that. If gays want to visit their dying loved ones in the hospital I’m all for it. In short, what consenting adults want to do in the privacy of thier own homes or community is clearly their choice. I know many gays and I have great love and admiration for them based upon our relationships as relatives, co-workers or casual aquantences. But please understand, to bring marriage into the equation as it pertains to same sex unions is simply not possible in the eyes of God.

    The mask comes off.

They’re “liberals” as long as you agree with them.

  • http://www.rabidamerican.net/ Rabid American

There seems to be a flawed concept that abounds in the liberal mentality…..

It forces me to ask, since when does disagreement equal “hate”?

Why is it that when someone disagrees with the philosophies of any special-interest-group, that it is proposed that the disagreement is based solely on some form of “hate”?

This ‘weapon’, i.e. name calling/labeling, is getting old with most people. It just hasn’t reached the level of disgust that will cause a backlash….. YET……

  • JC in OBX

Yepper, those Liberals sure know how to practice all that tolerance they preach at us racist Christian Republicans, don’t they?

What’s next? The ACLU, COYOTE, NAMBLA and various other groups dressing up in white hoods and burning crosses on church lawns? That would insult 2 birds with one stone.

And as sorry as I feel that so many blacks are tarred with the racism brush from their own side, I gotta tell ya…I don’t feel that much sympathy, since my fellow white Republicans have been suffering smears from bigoted Liberals (black and white) for a long time now.
