Honeymoon Blogging

I have to be quick on the computer lest my new bride clock me with a thrown shoe or something, but I thought I’d let everyone know that we’ve reached the destination of our honeymoon (The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, CO).  We had a great trip (we ended up hitting five Geocaches on the way) and despite all the gloomy news about the weather in Denver (Estes Park is just north of there) the roads were pretty much clear the whole way except for a 30 mile stretch in Wyoming.

We’re settling in for a nice, relaxing stay now.  This is a really beautiful place.  Having been born in the mountains, coming back to them from flat North Dakota always seems like coming home.

On a related note, I’d like to thank everyone who has sent Paypal donations for our wedding.  I’m pretty sure I emailed everyone individually thanking them, but if I didn’t consider this your heart-felt thank you.

Y’all have fun! And don’t worry, no one is posting anything so urgent as to need your immediate attention.

Whistler,

Well, Rob was 3 when I moved out of the house at......um...12 yah that’s it...12.  No, actually he’s 15 years younger than me.  I’m old but could probably still take him today or at least outrun him! I didn’t whoop on him much at home, picking on a 3 year old is kind of cruel.  When they moved down here from AK and I was in college I used to give him the what for.  But then I met my husband and he took over terrorizing “bunny” and all his litle friends until all his little friends became big friends and then they terrorized my husband!  (Short Sheeting beds, awesome snuggies, (the over the head type!), etc.)

ND, you sound fun! Coming to PA anytime soon? Oh, and nothing to see here rob. Move along.

LOL ... bad enough to blog while on your honeymoon, but I can’t believe you actually linked to the hotel you are staying at. (branzen) You’re just lucky I’ve grown up and matured .  10 years ago, my buddies and I would prank call the hotel room at all times of the day (or night) just to mess with the newlyweds.

You forget, sir, that I have more information resources available to me than your average citizen, and my retribution for such an offense would be swift and terrible.

Hey Rob!

If you happen to be in the gift shop at the hotel and you see a t-shirt that says “My Blogging buddy honeymooned at the Stanley Hotel and left me in charge of his blog and all he got for me was this lousy t-shirt and certain assurances that he sure as heck would never let an idiot like me run his Blog down again!” and it reminds you of someone then…

well you know.

Whistler
I think it would have to be a jumpsuit or overalls to print all of that on it and have it be a readable sized font.

Took nothing left nothing.  Just found the caches and signed the logs.

I got a great new GPS for Christmas and it works wonderfully.  ‘Caching has become a snap.

Hmmmm… caching looked kinda geeky/cool until you said “took nothing, left nothing”.

Makes it sound as lame as the “orienteering” merit badge I got in Boy Scouts—except you cheated!

Gee, what a lame honeymoon rasberry

Well, the trinkets in the caches aren’t worth much.  Finding the caches is the fun, and challenging, part.

Marty, orienteering served me well. Without it I would never have been able to call Air and Artillery strikes, or operate dismounted in double canopy rainforest. Or locate LZs for helio ops.

Rob, MrsR, geek it up! Honeymoons are all about having fun. In whatever manner you guys want. And shame on you Rob! Having to use an electronic gadget to find something on a map. Kids these days.
