Homeless Guy Takes Picture Of Michelle Obama At Soup Kitchen

What’s wrong with this picture?

image

Here’s your answer: That guy is in line at a soup kitchen. And he has a cell phone. He apparently can afford a wireless plan, but not food.
But don’t worry. You’re probably paying for the cell phone. And the soup.
Hope and change!

LOL, I thought the same thing when I saw that pic… and he’s got a nicer phone than me.

  • carrick

You can get that phone from T-Mobile for less than $100 and a pay-as you go plan.

  • carrick

Cell phones are cheaper these days, especially on pay-as-you-go plans, than fixed lines.

I pay about $15/month on mine. And like jimmypop, I got mine free.

I looked to upgrade to a cell phone with a camera, and the idiot at T-Mobile couldn’t figure out how to do it without paying for a second activation fee. In my case, having something I can photograph (for recording the state of equipment for example) would be useful for my work.

BTW, I do appreciate your comments Lioncourt, even if I don’t always agree with them.

  • carrick

    That’s my point.

  • http://SayAnythingBlog.com The_Whistler_ofnd

The guy probably just needs the phone to stay in contact with his street pharmaceutical agent.

  • 2Hotel9

Exactly. The only “homeless” there were those very few Michelle’s security allowed in the room, and you can bet your ass none of them got within 20 feet of HRM. And the guy with the cellphone? Not homeless, he works for a “community help” organization in the DC Metro area.

or you an be like me and get an old used one for free and not have to sign any contracts. of course.. i have money and poor people with new phones dont. funny how that works……

  • Mickey

    What!!! No Rugala!!!

I hope your point is that this criticism is bullshit. I would respect you for that.

  • Lioncourt

    That’s my point.

To tell you the truth I usually look for your comments. While I don’t always agree with them it is apparent that you have at least thought about the issue and your answer isn’t reflexive.

Even in developing countries the cell phone penetration is pretty high. Cell phones are almost as cheap as land lines these days. Phones are essential in the modern economy. Unless your point is to create a permanent underclass you cannot restrict cell phones to only the wealthy.

  • 2Hotel9

Sorry, Brother, homey don’t play dat shit. You hop in and try that “both sides of the issue” crap, gloss over what appears to have happened and been done.

Tell me, Afrocentricpundit, do you really think the First Lady of the US walked into a homeless shelter full of homeless people right off the street? Or was it a fully staged photo-op with a large number of staffers from the area homeless “advocacy” agencies and groups and a select, closely security checked number of actual homeless?

  • jimmypop

all the ‘poor’ people that live in my apartments seems to have cable/ sat and cell phones. there is never a shortage of booze either.

one guy was late on the rent… i told him i was shocked that having a roof over his head was not important, but what mattered was that he had a nice tv. (he actually has a better TV than I do.) he was speechless. tv and furniture are rent to own.

most poor people are poor because of recurring bad choices. most homeless people are homeless because of mental illness.

    Before commenting, please recite:
Grant me the serenity to ignore the trolls,

and the wisdom to know the difference.

I must not be very wise because all I see is a bunch of angry old guys grunting about something that is so very staged. Please….

I doubt you have to show your ‘I’m homeless’ card to eat at a soup kitchen. Lots of assumptions and conjecture. Hmmm, if you’re at a soup kitchen you sell drugs or use them; you’re stealing the food but it’s ‘free’; poor people aren’t allowed to have a phone; homeless are mentally ill and poor people made bad choices (who the hell would choose to be poor?).

And people–Obama cannot fix the world. (sarcasm aside) He’s just the US president. He is not a Messiah. He is not a god. He’s just a guy that ran for president and won. Those who acted as if he was something close to some sort of savior were out of their &%$#@@ minds!

…Give a man a fish and he’ll eat for a day…teach him how to fish and he’ll eat forever!!

  • 2Hotel9

This is a staged pic. Notice that the “homeless man” faded away into the milling masses of indigent swarming the area. Too fucking funny.

That’s got to be on the list for some more of O’bama’s constituency.

A bailout for homeless people who are behind in their cell phone bill.

I had to post on this over at my blog: this is too funny (I linked to you, of course).

My question: should there still be homeless people at this point in the administration?

  • http://SayAnythingBlog.com The_Whistler_ofnd

I think we’re all supposed to be homeless. We sure don’t want to pretend we’re better than Obama’s relatives.

  • nancy

Does anyone truly know this person?his circumstances? Not everyone who needs a warm meal is homeless!!!!!

  • 2Hotel9

So, you are telling us that people just show up at homeless shelters to steal the free food. Ain’t that special!

  • 2Hotel9

Oh, Afrocentricpundit? The government does not want people to learn how to fish, it wants people standing in lines to receive their ration of processed fish-like substance. And then they are allowed to beg permission to return to their government supplied “housing”.

    Hopey Changemas, everybody!

    WORD!

  • Brass

I, for one, am glad they have mushroom risotto on the menu. Maybe they could serve it with a nice Chianti.

  • http://suitepotato.blogspot.com/ sayanything-4808

It should also be noted that it got past the certain Secret Service frisking and clearing. A manufactured photo op if ever there was one.

  • http://sayanythingblog.com robport

Well, we’re not so much supposed to be homeless as just dependent on the government for everything.
