Hillary’s Campaign Going Down Under A Tidal Wave Of Questionable Contributions

It’s getting ugly for Hillary.

The Los Angeles Times on Friday uncovered an amazingly generous spirit of giving from Fujianese immigrant dishwashers and trinket sellers, hundreds of whom “spontaneously” coughed up $1,000 or $2,000 apiece for Clinton’s presidential campaign. The $380,000 from their giving dwarfed the $24,000 that John Kerry raised there for his run for the White House in 2004.
Worse yet, when the Times checked the donors, more than a third couldn’t be found and most weren’t registered to vote. Some didn’t even have green cards. Immigrant associations were cited as the nexus of the giving, but in a high-cost city where local per capita income is $21,000, it doesn’t add up. In fact, it raises the question that someone is buying influence.
This Times story follows an earlier bombshell about Norman Hsu, one of Clinton’s most valued fundraisers, who brought in $850,000 before he was exposed as a swindler on the lam.
Hsu’s “bundling” of contributions from immigrants and people of low means in his debt had all the signs of proxy giving from someone hidden and higher up. As media scrutiny intensified, much of the largesse was returned to keep the heat off and the law at bay.
Clinton’s campaign is so full of questionable transactions that even the Nation, a left-wing magazine, has dug up a mysterious influence peddler named Alan Quasha who hires Clinton operatives and has links to top Clinton’s top fundraisers.

Here’s the opening paragraph from that Nation article alluded to above:

In the Clintons’ pursuit of power, there is no such thing as a strange bedfellow. One recently exposed inamorata was Norman Hsu, the mysterious businessman from Hong Kong who brought in $850,000 to Hillary Clinton’s campaign before being unmasked as a fugitive. Her campaign dismissed Hsu as someone who’d slipped through the cracks of an otherwise unimpeachable system for vetting donors, and perhaps he was. The same cannot be said for the notorious financier Alan Quasha, whose involvement with Clinton is at least as substantial–and still under wraps.

When a liberal rag like The Nation is going after a Democrat, you know that Dem is in hot water.
Hillary is on the rocks, and Edwards is fading. If these questions about Hillary’s fund raising prove insurmountable are Democrats really going to feel comfortable putting their White House hopes on…Barack Obama?
Hillary’s got a substantial lead over the rest of the Democrat field in pretty much ever poll that matters, but the election is a long time off and already she’s in the midst of scandal clouds that are getting bigger and darker, not clearing away.

Hillary’s Campaign Going Down Under A Tidal Wave Of Questionable Contributions

Also: try to avoid “Hillary” and “Going Down” for the same reasons!
    (It gives me the willies!)

when the Times checked the donors, more than a third couldn’t be found and most weren’t registered to vote.

Yeah! Because people who don’t care enough to register to vote, are most likely to shell out $2,000 to political candidates! /sarcasm

    It’s getting ugly for Hillary.

BTW, Rob: Try not to use the word “ugly” and “Hillary” in the same sentence. That’s just too much of a target rich environment!

EXACTLY why this left coast police officer made a politically CONSERVATIVE music CD called ‘Blaming America First!.’ The LIbs always do, and I give Hillary, Edwards, Ward Churchill and the rest their due–to music! Try track #1 (Hillaryous) @

We’ve watched the Clintons for over 15 years now and we should expect most anything. The liberal left and their media will overlook anything short of Hillary/Bill being video-taped committing axe-murders. If an investigation does occur it will show that all the shady donations were made by the “vast right wing conspiracy”. Why? To prevent her from becoming president and cleaning up the politics in the country. And, she will smile while she says it.

    Oh my God!

PARIS — Hillary Rodham Clinton, the leading Democratic candidate for U.S. President, may be called as a material witness in the State of California, in what may be the largest election fraud in U.S. history. All news of this case has been effectively censored in the U.S. mainstream media. Read the full story in The Wall Street Journal, “For Clinton, 2000 Fund-Raising Controversy Lingers”.

Hillary may have violated the law by not reporting large contributions to her successful 2000 campaign for U.S. Senator. Mr. Peter F. Paul claims that his contributions were omitted from the public reports filed with the Federal Election Commission, and Hillary denies all knowledge of these contributions. Read the latest ruling in Case B191066, Paul v. Clinton.

Hillary even denies knowing Mr. Paul, a three time convicted felon, who made the contributions to her 2000 Senate campaign. A video, “Hillary Exposed”, produced by the Equal Justice Foundation of America has been viewed more than 725,000 times. A case such as this normally ends any aspirations that a politician may have for public office, and certainly raises questions about the illicit fund-raising practices in the Clinton camp.

I still don’t see this as being enough to give Obama the nomination. Plenty of Dems in the primaries will overlook what a sleezebag she is just like they overlooked what a dirt bag her husband is/was.

Remember why Moveon.org started. It was over the impeachment. Remember that Hillary is behind mediamatters. Folks think she is a crafty politician and will vote for her because they think she has already been anointed President.

The question is how much Obama and Edwards use this to their advantage and how scared they are to take on not only Hillary, but the big money donors that are trying to hand her the Presidency.

But this is fair game for the Republicans as long as this isn’t old news by the time the general occurs in exactly one year.

One can only hope she gets caught, but I won’t hold my breath if you don’t mind.

Guilty as sin never stopped them before and it won’t now I am sorry to have to say…

    Rob,

I wish it were true. But the fact remains, Democrats do not care how unethical their representatives are. Hillary will get the “nod”. She is their “man”.

She said that she didn’t know this man, Norman Hsu.

I still don’t see this as being enough to give Obama the nomination.

Not even close! Her campaign is NOT going down, she owns the nomination and she has a very, very strong chance of winning the White House! Get used to to it! I don’t like it, I hate everything about Madame Hillary, but she is inoculated against major scandals, it will take something huge to turn this Liberal Titanic from sailing into the White House. Also, let us not hope for Obama if something did bring down the wicked witch of the east, we might be surpised at how much the public will get caught up in a wave of emotion and star power and elect him despite his lack of qualifications.

I am sorry, it will upset a few here, but I don’t think Thompson has the fire in his belly to win the nomination and if it is him against Hillary, unless he gets a major energy and speech makeover, I fear he will appear a bumbling old man against her in any debates. I don’t like Giuliani for his liberal social/moral leanings and tendency to act more like an independent versus a conservative on those issues; but, unless something happens that I don’t expect, it increasingly looks like he is the only one with a chance to beat the Hildabeast in the general election!

If you don’t want the Hildbeast prowling the halls of the White House, I think a major part (70+%) of the eventual Republican Nominee’s campaign must be to cause enough people to fear her as Commander-In-Chief. Maybe she will get in a tank and wear a helmet, we can only hope.

What is funny nothign will happen to her because the MSM will try to stick this story under the rugs. Hillary should have to answer for it and if she found in violation be asked to drop out of the presidential race.

I have known what the Clintons were since the ’80s. And no one would listen.
