Hillary, Obama Agree To Cut Off Roll Call Votes At Convention Lest Outcome Become Embarrassing
Not all is well in Democrat land as convention organizers announce that the roll call vote of delegates for the Presidential nomination will be cut off part way through, presumably so that the vote total doesn’t end up embarrassing Obama.
Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama are working on a deal to give her some votes in the roll call for the Democratic presidential nomination, but quickly end the divided balloting in unanimous consent for Obama.
Democratic officials involved in the negotiations said Monday the idea is that at the start of the state-by-state vote for the presidential nomination Wednesday night, delegates would cast their votes for Clinton or Obama.
But the voting would be cut off after a couple of states, the officials said, perhaps ending with New York, when Clinton herself would call for unanimous backing for Obama from the convention floor. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity while the deal was being finalized.
For all the hype surrounding Obama’s campaign, he can’t even hold an open roll call vote of delegates at his own convention lest the lackluster support for his campaign be exposed? Meanwhile, Hillary’s people aren’t going to be staying in Denver long enough to watch The One’s ascension at Invesco Field.
Discussion question: When the smokescreen dissolves and the rather paltry (relative to expectations) support for Obama’s campaign is exposed how soon will it take for Obama’s surrogates to start blaming America’s innate racism?
