Hillary Clinton Outraged by Sex, Bill Not Involved

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Sen. Hillary Clinton pressed on Thursday for a government investigation into how simulated sex cropped up in a modified version of the blockbuster criminal adventure video game "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas."

Clinton asked the U.S. Federal Trade Commission to investigate the origins of a downloadable modification that allows simulated sex in the personal computer version of one of the most popular and controversial video games in history.

"We should all be deeply disturbed that a game which now permits the simulation of lewd sexual acts in an interactive format with highly realistic graphics has fallen into the hands of young people across the country," Clinton wrote in a letter to the head of the Federal Trade Commission.

Senator Hillary Clinton seems to be trying to position herself as a moral moderate. Joseph Lieberman aside, far left liberals tend to shy away from these kinds of nanny statism to instead focus the important jobs of fleecing your wallet and telling you where you can and cannot smoke.

But things are not as they might seem. The game's manufacturer, Rockstar Games, have said that the sex is the result of a hacker modification called "hot coffee" which would give them a pass on any wrongdoing.

The sex is reportedly consentual sex between the game's hero/antagonist and his girlfriend. I would imagine that it is none of our business. This is a private matter that Senator Clinton is drudging up for partisan personal gain. Her going to the FCC is part of vast left wing conspiracy that has been conspiring against Rockstar Games since the day they released the first Grand Theft Auto. She is peddling to the American people conspiracy commerce.

You've heard all of these arguments before from the same Senator Clinton. Has she forgotten her own words?

Ummm… I don’t think this whole controversy has anything to do with right or left wing conspiracies.  Sam Brownback and Rick Santorum are joining Clinton’s crusade.  There are also many right wing groups that have been trying to ban Grand Theft Auto for years.

Also, I’m not so sure many groups have been trying to ban grand theft auto since the first one.  The first two were for the original Playstaion and didn’t get very much media attention, simply because they were two dimensional and far less graphic, not to mention not very popular.  The first one to actually attract the media was GTA 3 which was the first grand theft auto on the Playstaion 2.  Sorry for the knit-picking; just being anal.

I was just being sarcastic Andrew.  Taking Hillary’s own pathetic arguments and turning them against her in an ironic sort of way.

Sorry, my bad.  Someone really needs to invent a sarcasm botton for slower kids like myself.

The sex originates from a donwloadable modification to the game, right?  So what’s the problem?  Do the creators of the game have any control over the hacks players apply after-market?

And why even go after the person who made the mod?  Sure its for a video game, but not all video games are played by kids.  Certainly this game, because of the violence involved alone, is not one parents should let their kids play.

Just more moralizing by a bunch of congressional twits, if you ask me.

Rob, I saw in an interview the other day that the guy who released the “mod” to the internet swears that it was already in the game; that is, Rockstar Games put it there… he just found it.

It’s a he said/she said issue… I don’t know enough about technology to know if we’ll ever determine who’s lying.

If you think that any of the GTA games have realistic graphics, man… you’re missing out.  Haven’t these people ever seen Half-Life 2?

I think the point a lot of these people need to get in their heads is that these games aren’t just for kids any more.  The video game generation has grown up, and the games have grown up with them.

Parents can’t just let their kids pick out games to play trusting that all video games are “kids stuff.” Some, clearly, are not any more.

Parents are just going to have to do their jobs and keep tabs on what their kids are playing/watching.

Rob, I think that’s a good point.  The same thing happened when there started being adult-oriented cartoons, like South Park.  Before then, they could just say “What you watching?  Cartoons?  Oh, okay.” Parents have to exert a little more effort… which is a good thing.  Parents need to be more involved anyway.

I could be wrong, but I think one of the things that Hillary said was that retailers should get in trouble if they sell games rated “M” to kids.

The fact is - much like what Rob said - these games are not made for kids, so that means two things.  One, kids shouldn’t be able to go the the store and buy them on their own, and two, (again paraphrasing Rob) parents need to be more cognizant of what they’re kids are playing.

If that was something Hill said, I guess I have to agree with her.

God help me, I agree with Hillary Clinton.

My problem is that Hillary wants to go after the game designers themselves.  There is no evidence to suggest that kids were the targets of these games, why should the government step in?  I’d be willing to listen to arguments for the government investigating how to keep these games from getting into the hands of kids (though, really, that’s the parents job) but I don’t want government interference with game development.

Sex and violence are perfectly legal things for adults to enjoy as entertainment.  Not to everybody’s taste, perhaps, but that’s beside the point.

Hillary Clinton is a Senator. A Senator’s job is supposed to be a representative for the state.

Just goes to show how far we have removed ourselves from that job description.

Ive Been playing the GTA Games since I was 12. And Ive only recently began to get annoyed by all these politicians and protest groups. Obviously Mrs Clinton has never really thought. By The Age of 14 almost every teenager has seen pornography. If they don’t have magazines, they have the Internet. I recently read about a single parent going against San Andreas because it featured pornography. Obviously he was uninformed that the game is rated 17 and up. So its ok for your children rated 17 and up, but it immediately becomes wrong when it contains pornography?  Many parents hear about the hot coffee mod and assume the whole game is about pornography. NOT that you have to download it. Ive I could have sent him an email I would have explained that he should spend less time attending his parenting seminars and more time parenting. If you would really like to benefit your kids, why not play GTA with your kids? The game may not be educational, but it is very fun.

Other people argue about GTA inspiring Killings. This is actually quite sad, how mothers feel they need to make money off their children’s death. If your child sees a video game and thinks its reality, they must think mice can talk ( eg. Mickey Mouse) and that its actually possible to find fully automatic rifles in the street, which i sincerely hope it is not. Several people think it is GTA that is the sole cause of these kind of accidents. If you do not want these type of killings to happen at all, why not ban guns and change the constitution. In the UK weapons are legalized and we get along fine. Also, where do they get the guns. there are several possibility’s. Listed 1 is least likely 3 is most likely
1. From an Illegal Trader
2.From somebody older
3.from their Parents.
Thats right. if you are worried your children may kill, get rid of your guns!

As a final note, I would like to say- GTA is safe, fun, enjoyable, and suitable for those aged 11 and up. I recommend all you right wing fascists go and play some GTA with your kid and stop acting like a joy killer

This story was about Hillary Clinton calling for a government investigation.  Hillary Clinton is on the left wing.

Get a clue moron.
