Hillary: Caucus States Are Undemocratic, Southern States Are Too Black, And Red States Don’t Matter
Yes, she actually said that.
WASHINGTON - Democratic Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton has found a lot of ways to explain her string of losses to Sen. Barack Obama.
Caucus states, the former first lady says, are undemocratic and cater only to party activists. Southern states, like Louisiana, have “a very strong and very proud African-American electorate” naturally predisposed to favor a black candidate. And so-called “red” states like North Dakota, Idaho and Kansas — all of which Obama won on Super Tuesday — will never choose a Democrat in the general election anyway.
As a citizen of North Dakota, I know Democrats in my state are terrified of an election season with Hillary Clinton at the top of their ticket as the sheer amount of dislike she inspires is sure to either keep voters away, or keep them away from voting Democrat.
Regardless, as much as I’d like to see Hillary be the Democrat nominee (and watch the Dems go down in flames because of it as they all try to rally around a candidate they really don’t like), I think her campaign is circling the drain. Especially in light of Obama’s victories today.
