High Flight

Every now and then I’ve gone searching for this video.  It was the TV station sign on back when I was a kid.  We’d get up extra early (6am as I recall) on Saturday mornings to make sure we say the airplane and then settle down for several power hours of cartoons.  Now thanks to the internet we can finally watch it without getting up early.

Tonights the first time I’ve found the “original version” with the F-104, the coolest fighter ever!

Where and when did TV stations sign off and on?
Pluto in the 5th century perhaps?

Lawn Dart

I planned from early on to make an F-104 my office and a G-suit my business clothes, but bad eyes have a way of keeping you from getting no closer that a back seat RIO.

Alas, things that might have been..

North Dakota.  I’m not so sure they aren’t still doing it around here.  Guess you’d have to stay up late or get up early to find out.

What’s going to happen to US industry when the global warming extremists like John McCain double the price of electricity?  I would think all these factories will close and set up in countries where they aren’t scared of technology.

Whistler,

Thanks for posting this.  “High Flight” was always one of my favorites, but for many it will always be remembered as President Ronald Reagan’s eulogy to the Challenger astronauts in 1986.

As for the “coolest fighter ever”, I’d have to disagree.  The F-22 Raptor is the coolest performing fighter ever, while the coolest looking aircraft is still the SR-71 “Habu”.

What was the chance that Bat was going to favor a plane that was designed to look like the Bat Plane.
