Recently the Washington Post reported that liberal Senate candidate Heidi Heitkamp has been “aggressively” trying to distance herself from President Obama and her policies. But given Heitkamp’s outspoken support for one of those policies – Obamacare – back before she was a Senate candidate, there’s a limit to how aggressive she can be in changing her position without looking like a total hypocrite.

At a recent press conference Heitkamp was asked if she would vote to repeal Obamacare. “The answer is no,” she said in response despite earlier claims that she “never” liked the health insurance mandate and claiming there are “serious problems” with the law.

So Heitkamp won’t repeal the law she claims skepticism of. The law she says has “serious problems.”

Today the House of representatives will be voting on a repeal of Obamacare. Heitkamp’s opponent, Rick Berg, has said he’ll be voting for that repeal.
