Heitkamp Campaign Links To Evidence Of Their Own Hypocrisy
11:18am
Liberal North Dakota Senate candidate Heidi Heitkamp’s campaign just tweeted out a link to this Washington Post profile of the state’s Senate race. In the tweet, Heitkamp claims she’ll “continue to show ND who’ll stand up for the state in DC.”

That’s an interesting claim given this passage from the article she links to:
Heitkamp has worked aggressively to distance herself from Obama, criticizing the Keystone decision and his failure to make good on promises to unify the country.
But she’s said she plans to vote for Obama in November and would support Majority Leader Harry M. Reid (D-Nev.) to retain the Senate’s top post if elected.
So Heitkamp is aggressively trying to distance herself from a President…she’s going to vote for?
Heitkamp differs from her national party on an issue like the Keystone pipeline, yet she’s made it clear that she’d vote to keep Majority Leader Harry Reid in his position of authority despite his saying that Keystone is something he’s “not going to help in any way.”
Heitkamp is staying home from her party’s national convention, to create the appearance of distance between herself and her party, but actions speak louder than words. And with her actions Heitkamp would vote to keep the Democrat status quo in Wasington.
