Heidi Heitkamp Has No Integrity

I don’t normally post a lot of videos produced by the Republican party, because they’re usually sort of shallow political point-scoring, but I really like this one from the NRSC celebrating the two-year anniversary of Heidi Heitkamp’s embrace of Obamacare.
The video juxtaposes video of Heitkamp’s vigorous, passionate endorsement of Obamacare with her more recent comments questioning the law. At the end, the video says “integrity matters,” and that’s an important point.
Heitkamp’s flip-flop goes beyond mere disagreement over Obamacare. Whatever you may think of the health care law, the fact is that Heitkamp is being dishonest about her position on the issue. She was once, literally, a cheerleader for the law standing on stage and leading rallies of liberals and union activists in support of the law. Now, as a federal candidate, she’s claiming she was skeptical of the law.
Yet, she never communicated that skepticism before.
It’s one thing for Heitkamp to embrace a policy that’s unpopular with North Dakotans. An honest disagreement on policy between Heitkamp and those she’s asking to elect her, while not politically convenient, is at least honest.
But Heitkamp isn’t being honest.
