Rand Paul “thinking about” 2016

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) in a wide-ranging USA Today interview filmed Wednesday but released on Friday admits he’s “thinking about” running for president in 2016.

“Your dad, [former]Texas Congressman Ron Paul, ran for president a couple of times. Do you want to follow in his footsteps?” interviewer Susan Page asked. “Would you like to run for president?”

“We’re thinking about it,” Sen. Paul replied. “We haven’t made any kind of decision — we won’t for a couple of years — [but] I do want to be part of the national debate, I want to be part of deciding what the Republican message is, and who the republican leaders are.”
