Property tax statements go missing

As many as one thousand property tax statements mailed out by Ward County have not made it to their destination and officials are puzzled about what happened.
Ward County sends out about 35-thousand statements each December.
After workers sent the final batch out in mid-December, they started taking calls from people saying they hadn’t received their statements.
That means the stacks of mail coming in to the auditor’s office have been a little light this January.
