Obamacare collapse puts GOP in the lead for 2014

Washington (CNN) – What a difference a month makes.

A new CNN/ORC International poll indicates a dramatic turnaround in the battle for control of Congress in next year’s midterm elections.

Democrats a month ago held a 50%-42% advantage among registered voters in a generic ballot, which asked respondents to choose between a Democrat or Republican in their congressional district without identifying the candidates.

That result came after congressional Republicans appeared to overplay their hand in the bitter fight over the federal government shutdown and the debt ceiling.

But the Democratic lead has disappeared. A new CNN/ORC poll indicates the GOP now holds a 49%-47% edge.

Looks good for the GOP, doesn’t it. It also looked good for Romney in 2012, when Dick Morris foresaw a landslide victory for him.

Conservatives wonder why Obama was elected twice against the GOP. Let’s see.

For starters, the GOP must first go public and dissociate itself from any statements or opinions emanating from Bullshit Mountain, the Fox freak show, which was probably a significant factor in its past downslide.

    Examples:

GOP surrogate Hannity says Donald Trump (“I’m leading in the polls”) would make a better president than Obama

He also says President Obama (regarded as the greatest hope for world peace) did not deserve the peace prize, and that President Bush (considered to be the greatest threat to world peace, invading Iraq in defiance of the UN and the entire world) deserved the award

According to Fox, the United Nations (dedicated to world peace) is worthless and should be dissolved

Fox is constantly repeating that GM (American-made) vehicles are crappy and the company should never have been rescued by our president. Hello! Are those supposed to be winning arguments?

    Also:

Cut out all partisan, clearly bullshit-based, anti-president, anti-healthcare, anti-USA foreign policy twaddle. Constantly attacking the president is tantamount to constantly bashing the millions who voted for him and whose votes the GOP is after.

Since the GOP’s only chance of winning anything midterm is to continue spewing lies about our “horrible” president, why not switch tactics and do some positive lying. For example, (fingers crossed) “we realize that millions of Americans have a favorable view of the government’s new healthcare law and will work closely together with our liberal friends across the aisle, and the private sector, to salvage its positive features without trying to destroy, misrepresent or repeal the commendable achievements of the administration and congress.” (uncross fingers).

    Just saying.
