ND House votes to hike DUI penalties

House Bill 1302, which increases the penalties for driving under the influence, passed by an 80-14 vote.

Under HB1302, a first conviction for DUI would be a Class B misdemeanor. The penalty would be a Class A misdemeanor for a second offense and a Class C felony for subsequent convictions.
