Gun sales skyrocket in North Dakota

Since Friday’s massacre in Newtown Connecticut, gun stores across the nation have been busy with customers.

Today we went to two stores, to find out why so many people are “loading up,” in gun stores.

“In the last three days it’s been busy,” Brandon Charvat said.

Busy is an understatement, for the traffic Mandan Sporting Goods has seen the past few days.

One of the most popular guns being sold, is the AR-15, a weapon believed to be used in the Newtown shooting.

“And the problem is, I just had a vendor come in here and I won’t be able to get them anymore either, it’s going to be tough to get them at this point in time if you don’t already have them on hand,” Charvat said. “Just cause they’re in demand by everybody?” “Absolutely.”

Internet sales are up as well..

Here is a statement from one of the sites..

We at ========= are horrified by the events that transpired in Newtown, CT on Friday, and wish to express our sympathies to the families of all those that have been affected. We know that nothing we can say will ease your pain in this trying time, but you are in our thoughts and prayers, and we dearly hope that you will come to find some comfort.
That being said, there are many people, who in a very predictable fashion, are trying to use this tragedy to further their political agenda of restricting our 2nd Amendment rights. We all knew that with the re-election of Barack Obama, there would be the risk of a President unrestrained by the prospect of another campaign, who would reveal his true intentions of limiting freedom. We now see the President working with Sen. Feinstein, to revive her long discredited and discarded Assault Weapons Ban, in an attempt to harness the emotions of the moment for political gain.
